A bit expensive but better than buying premade ones.
I bought a king sized pillow case with zipper for 10 bucks and filled it with this product. Wish it was a but cheaper but it did fill up the king size case very well. The cushion is soon good. It's like a memory foam firmness and you can break it up with your hands to make it softer.Gets messy so do it outside and double case it and you're good to go. Smell will not effect your sleep and it's almost like a bread loaf scent but unnoticeable. Smells good if anything.

soft as silk !!
I bought 5 lbs of Kapok to make pillows. Cotton isn’t environment friendly and Kapok is from trees. Polyester = all my bedding since the 1970’s. It can create static electricity and that may stimulate the motor memory of my previously cured RLS. So no more synthetics for me. I’m stuffing and making my own pillows and bedding bolsters. I love this stuff.

This Stuff is Amazing!
I took apart a very old (as in grandparent old) upholstered wing chair cushion that I knew was filled with down feathers. i'd researched and found 100% organic Kapok fiber stuffing on Amazon and bought a 5 lb bag (just in case) as I didn't know how much I'd need. Very reasonably priced and I was delightfully amazed at how easy it was to pull apart the fibers and stuff it into the inner muslin bag until the cushion was nicely stuffed. Compared to what I had to do to get the bird feathers out first and clean the emply bag (very old and very dusty), it was a piece of cake! I now have a lovely, firm cushion that doesn't collapse in a haze of down feathers every time I sit on it. FYI I am NOT a professional seamstress, I don't have a sewing machine, but I do know how to sew a simple hem and I do have an old sewing kit. The Kaypok fiber smelled clean and fresh too - a really great find. Thank you!

Best texture and color but you'll need to pick out some leaves and twigs
I'm using Kapok fiber as an organic and planet-friendly filler for packing fragile jewelry into gift boxes. By stuffing the box with enough fiber that it must be squished down when closing, it works very well to prevent movement of the box contents. I have tried both this and another brand available here on Amazon, which is sold as "Organic Kapok Fiber - Natural". Both work equally well to serve the packing function. For my application the appearance of the fiber is also important. Overall I prefer this Bean Products Brand. It has a lighter color (creamy instead of the brown of the other product) and the fiber has mostly been fluffed and loosened already. It can be easily separated into double-handful bunches that hold together well. The downside of the Bean brand is that it could be cleaned better before shipping. There are lots of included 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch bits of papery leaf substance, and 1- inch small twigs. These must be picked out of the fiber by hand. But the bits ARE large enough to pick out easily. The other brand has no large bits, but instead contains lots of tiny dark-colored flakes that are too small to pick out, so it looks rather like dirty wool. Both brands contain some clay-like fine dust that shakes out and collects on your table as you work with the fiber. I have to keep wiping it up with a damp cloth to keep the grit from getting on the packaging materials. I assume this is soil, as the fiber is probably collected from the ground. But Bean brands seems to contain much less of this soil.As a negative, the Bean brand releases lots and lots of tiny loose fibers that will float around the room as you work. They collect on surfaces and on your clothing. If you don't want to breathe them, you'll need to wear a mask. The other brand does not seem to release these loose fibers that become airborne. The Bean brand is loosely packed compared to the other. A 5-lb bundle is about the side of a standard bed pillow. The other brand is packed more tightly into a very hard and dense cube-shaped bale that is half the size so it stores better, but you'll have to work harder to separate the fiber and use it.

LOVE!!
I was looking for a 100% natural fiber to replace my unhealthy pillows with. I ran across Kapok fiber and ordered 10 lb bag. I ordered organic, 100% cotton pillow cases with zippers and went to town.. They are amazing pillows!! They smell great, easy to stuff and you can fill them to your preference. The 10 lb bags filled 4 standard pillows and have nought left to maybe fill 2 more!!

Lovely soft stuff
I had never used kapok before but thought I'd try it out as I don't care to be personally responsible for putting more petrochemical products into the environment nor killing geese. I was pleasantly surprised by how soft and silky kapok is and how nicely it functions as pillow stuffing. I needed a small pillow for my lower back and this made the perfect little support pillow, soft, fluffs up after using and is an organic product so no pesticides or herbicides.I have one small criticism, the packaging. It comes in a plastic bag that has been compressed by wrapping a LOT of plastic tape around it. Getting the tape off tore the bag in many places allowing the kapok to get everywhere. I would like it to come in a cloth bag, or even a paper one. I am trying to reduce my use of plastic but also this was just a pain to get into.Aside from that it's great. The amount I ordered will easily make several pillows since it was packed down and gets fluffed up to be used, much like down without the poor geese.

Better than plastic, no smell!
Really didn't want to contribute to the microplastics in the environment with polyfill. This fit the bill. Love that it does have a smell. I used it to refresh a couch-- stuffing the throw pillows and the cushions. It does make a mess, and the particles linger in the air. Where a mask and some glasses to prevent it from going into your eyes and nose, and work outside if you can. Also, you will want to fluff it up as you go, as it comes pretty compact. Great stuff!!!

Good quality product
The product was as advertised, it was clean and easy to use. I recommend viewing YouTube videos on how to fill a cushion before you use it as it can create dust if used inappropriately. Fill the cushion outside and wash your hands afterwards are the key things to remember.
