I have been delighted with the first six pill crushers I bought, a year or so ago. Two for my use and four as a gift to my ward in the leading London hospital where I was treated. (There they’ve been much appreciated as an efficient alternative to the manual grinders staff normally use.)But then I noticed one of mine had started leaking powder, so I ordered another.Huge disappointment. The new grinder started leaking powder immediately. I quickly found the problem - the ring which seals off the grinding chamber during the crushing process is so poorly fixed, it had almost immediately came off (see photo).Without this seal working the item is near useless since the powder escaping is medication I should be taking and so results in an under-dose.I’d normally contact the manufacturer to alert them to the problem and ask for a replacement part (all I need is a new lid with a seal that stays in place) but, since there’s no way I can see to contact this manufacturer directly, I’m writing this review in the hope they respond to it by sorting this problem out ASAP - and sending me a replacement lid.after I get a new lid from the manufacturer or a replacement machine through Amazon with a lid seal which works, I’ll update this review to 5 star which is how I rated the machine before this awful quality fault materialised. Meanwhile I’ll struggle on with the faulty seal or revert to manual crushing.So beware. If the lid seal works, the machine is terrific. But if not, it’s just a source of uncertainty and concern.

The product was well packed and is really easy to use, grinds 25 large tablets to fine powder in about 4 x 10 second bursts. Not the quietest machine but as it is a lot faster than other grinders, the noise is only a minor issue. The inner sealed lid is a great idea and keeps powder mess down to a minimum. My biggest gripe is the really loose power connector, it does not connect firmly and often comes loose during grinding. A really poor design choice in an otherwise good product.

Having been in hospital for almost 2 months, I watched the nurses crush so many of my pills with a plastic manual crusher, so I thought I’d invest in this for myself & I’m so pleased I did. My husband put the pills in & literally turned it on for 10 seconds & they were done to a fine powder, no lumps as with the plastic manual one either, & as I then have to pass them through a feeding tube, the finer the powder the better. I’m so pleased I invested in one. The electrical connection from the power lead to the crusher is a little loose, which has been mentioned In some other reviews, but it doesn’t effect the actual way the product works. Overall definitely recommend

My partner is on many tablets that have to be ground up, l was using a manual grinder and thought this electric one would be better, but it’s a real nusciance , the plug lead is too short, the socket hole in the grinder is far too near the bottom so keeps falling out, there a rubber seal inside the lid which falls off everytime you use it , altogether extremely annoying

Medication

This has been just what we needed. My son has had double jaw surgery. He can only manage a liquid diet for the next few weeks. Unfortunately he is allergic to medication in syrup form as they contain additives, colourings. This grinder very quickly reduces his medications to a fine powder, perfect!
