Q: Should this dehydrator and primer be used with just regular nail polish or is that not necessary?

It’s not necessary for regular nail polish but I’d recommend it. It most definitely helps seal in the polish and I’ve found my polish lasts longer and I especially love it for my gel polishes. Again not needed but for me it’s a regular in my kit now. I hope that helps. It also makes doing your own nails (press-ones) last much much much longer as well.

Q: What am i doing wrong? the primer will not dry!! it’s very sticky even if i cure it for hours.

It is supposed to be sticky. The tackiness makes the polish and other things you are using be able to adhere to the nail. This is the purpose of primer. You don't cure it in the lamp, you put dehydrator first snd let it dry for 10-30 seconds and then do the ssme with the primer before applying acrylics, gel color, or builder/poly gels. Well the dehydrator is exactly for that meaning of your nail is dehydrated whatever product you use is basically going to adhere better to the natural nail. You don't use this product on fake nail, then the primer works as a canvas for the nail so after dehydrating nail use the primer so the product last long. When taking off try using cotton balls soaked them on nail remover place on nail and cover each finger with foil that helps if you feel is to hard to take off and you don't want to damage your nail.
