Q: How durable is this compressor as a replacement for a Thomas oilless compressor rated for continuous duty ?

I never had a "Thomas Oilless", but my california air tools compressor is constantly running 8 hours a day to run a cnc machine. It's held up very well.

Typical tank drain, 1/4" npt I believe

Q: Is this sames as c.a. technologies go portable compressor ?

While I haven't seen CAT's nomenclature, it's a compact work horse. I can recall when 25" TVs were first considered portable but how definitions change. When I bought my CAT material construction, size, intended application (hobbyist, light, infrequent duties around the house), AND generated noise level remained my main prioritized considerations. I wouldn't call this light and I keep a small moving around but haven't mounted any casters. Until the day arrives when casters become a daily necessity, I chose to keep the mobility temporary to move my CAT.
