The netting system is very good, I have never had any problems, and juice extraction is very very good indeed. So I would say if you want this item then go ahead it is very very good.

Does anyone know whether the plastic used here is BPA-free?

Is this item able to squeeze ginger

I very much doubt it. The ginger would need to be cut into smash pieces which would then not sit onto the actual grating part.
