Geekpure Blue Housing for 2.5" x 10" Filter Good Replacement With A Solid Design
My old filter housing cracked at the 3/4 bsp port due to the plastic threads (no brass threaded insert) while changing the filter. This unit appears to be more solid in design and a straight forward replacment from my old unit even down to using the old mounting bracket made out of metal. Not sure how long the plastic mounting bracket with the new housing would have lasted. Its been up and running some months with no leaks happy person.

Product did the job, my only gripe with it was stopping it leaking around the main seal. Was able to stop leak by tightening it more, but due to it being a cheap alternative you have to be careful that you don't ruin the threads. But, yes had it in place now a couple of months and working great

Works Great.
Used this at house cold-water mains entrance as sediment filter,so the whole house is filtered. The reusable washable filter makes it very economical. No noticeable drop in pressure at all. (Needed to add fitting to reduce output to 1/2 inch diameter for internal pipes.) Full marks.I recommend it.

Immediately starting leaking
The media could not be loaded. I've installed several water filter housings over the years and have never had this issue. The O ring does not make a good seal. It doesn't matter how tight I make it. Now I have to replace the housing which is extremely inconvenient.Edit: the company reached out and offered a full refund. Bumped up from 1 star to 3 starsEdit 2: the company is sending me a replacement oring. Up to 5 stars for good service and addressing the issue

Great
Saves money by using less expensive filters like Aquaboon. The mounting bracket is not great (flimsy). I made one out of steel. I am using 2 in the setup in the above picture. Wrap a good quality teflon around six times to avoid leaks.

Works just as described
I already have the 5” x 10” Geekpure whole house water filter housings and they work great. Easy to change out and no problems. Therefore I went with this 2.5” x10” housing for hooking up with my water dispenser unit next to the kitchen sink. This is a “ freebie “ from the builder but it requires proprietary filters that are very expensive. Instead I used the same 1/4” lines to hook up this unit. I used Sharkbite 1/4” to 1/4” couplings to lengthen the supply and feed lines so that instead of having the unit way in back and difficult to change the filters, I have it moveable so it is easily accessible for changing the filters or O ring if needed. This way I place the unit in a smaller bucket so any water that spills isn’t a problem. This also means I did not use the mounting bracket for the unit either but could have. If you just mount it so that you can slide it off easily than there is no stress on the bracket when torquing the body to loosen or tighten the body when changing the filter.Just be careful because most sink cabinets do not have very thick walls and if you use an anchor you might go through to either the dishwasher or into an adjoining cabinet. Another reason I find not mounting it works well.I have posted a question to Geekpure asking which manufacturer is best for replacement O rings for their product. Might help someone else out too.I always use Vaseline on O rings.
