Author Paul McFedries is the Best!
Bought 2 others before this one and they were lame. This one is perfect. Well laid out, has visual guidance and explains nearly everything in a simple to understand process. I had an old Windows 7 book from this author and it was great as well. I wished that I would have looked up the author of that one before buying the other 2. I hate leaving 7, but we are sheep. Baaaaa Baaaa.

An excellent reference
A very good reference for those of us who received Windows 10 by accident. The step by step instructions are well presented. I would recommend this book as a starting point for anyone new to Win 10. NOTE: if you have a problem that isn't covered in the book you will have to ask Cortana the (ask me anything) task bar icon...

Helpful book, good vendor
My computer experience was outdated; this book provided a fast, easy way to update my skills. I can always trust Thriftbooks (vendor) to provide a quality book at a good price.

Good Book
From what I have read so far in the book, I am seeing simple and easy ways to use my computer with Windows 10. Putting a manuel in the box would have been easier but what does HP know ? Just like my kindle fire, no instructions but went by my previous kindle to connect.

Superficial
Moving from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, this book just didn't provide what I hoped for, i.e. a quick briefing on what would be different, what new features. Also, it's neither comprehensive nor well-organized. Seems to zip from one area/feature to another, dabbling a bit in the items the author considers interesting but neglecting others. It explains things that are already standard in Win 8.1, indeed, even things that I would think a Win 7 user would know, things that Windows has done for years. It gives the impression of a book first written eight or ten years ago, then sloppily updated to cover some (but not all) of the newest features. Incidentally, it's quite difficult to read in a Kindle version because it uses little images of the keys to press - which do not show up very visibly on the screen.I was tempted to give only 2 stars but there may be people who want a quick overview who would find this worthwhile..

A must-read for Seniors!
As a Senior Citizen who didn't grow up using computers, I find understanding and using them to be confusing at times. When I upgraded to a newer computer running Windows 10 I needed help, so I purchased this book. A Picture IS worth a thousand words, and the author uses LOTS of pictures in this book to make his instructions easy to understand. If you can READ and SEE, you'll have NO TROUBLE following the instructions in this book and unlocking the secrets of Windows 10.

Clear and Simply Written
These “Teach Yourself” books are great instructional tools. Plenty of great quality photos to illustrate and augment the written instructions. I haven’t looked up a lot of sections in this particular book yet but so far so good!

A "must have" book.
I love the "Teach yourself visually" books. I have been using them each time I have upgraded my computers. They are easy to use and understand. Not a book to read from start to finish to make one understand. Just look up what you need to know and follow instructions. A true blessing for seniors.
