Great value for the money, but I have mixed feelings about this rod. The triple zoom is an interesting feature but I wish I felt more secure when using it in the 2 shorter lengths. When shortening it to the shortest length it has a tendency to build pressure and pop back out. The adjustable length is useful, and it's surprising how it was actually useful to fully extend it in areas that I would have thought a shorter rod would be better. Sometimes the longer lengths allow a very gentle presentation that requires less overhead space. The triple zoom definitely comes at a price, it feels very heavy in the hand, which is to be expected from such a substantial rod. The balance is pretty nice when in the 10'8, but it becomes drastically less balanced and then uncomfortable to use at the 12'9 length. It is easier to cast light line using a 6:4 action rod, but the stiffer action of this rod made lifting small fish from steep areas much easier. It's definitely not as elegant as a single length rod, but the adjustable length has its advantages. I don't think I'd pay much more for a "triple zoom" rod, but if the idea interests you, it's worth the money. I really like the rotating tip, that's a very nice feature. Compared to aventic's nano series, this rod has a number of premium features, but is heavier, less balanced and more difficult to cast. Aventic also provides a spare t1 and t2 parts, which I was pleased to see were offered for separate purchase for this rod, however I noticed these are no longer listed. Will these be for sale again in the future if I need spare sections? Lastly I noticed a small scratch in the 2cnd section after the one labelled 10'8 right out of the box. It's probably superficial, but it's a little disheartening. Lastly, I recently acquired an ESZ tenkara rod, a local high end manufacturer. It has two lengths which I prefer to three. The difference in quality is unbelievable. The maximumcatch rods are great entry level rods, but there are rods out there that are more expensive, which truly feel way better when casting and handling fish. It may not seem much but an imbalanced rod feels much heavier than it is, and will leave you fatigued.

Ive been fishing my whole life and had never tried this type of rod before. I love it so far.Bought this because maximum catch has great quality for the price.If you want to give Tenkara fishing a try, start here.From beginner to pro theres something to to be learned from this style of fishing.

The Seller here on AMAZON is different from their company website. As I said earlier, their company website people told me because I didn't buy it DIRECTLY from their website, they would not replace the rod of provide parts. But then the Seller here on AMAZON contacted me and, 3 weeks later (shipping from China), I had a replacement rod! So their customer service here on Amazon is GREAT. And, the rod is one of my favs. It casts amazingly well for the great price.

This is an update on a previous review. After some miscommunication with the seller things just didn’t line up properly with item sadly. The seller ended up being genuine and kind and did try to work things out. Sadly I wanted the entire package and when I went to order it there wa son option and I was unclear on what I would be getting. When the Cole says rod only that is all you are getting. Because of this mishap the seller genuinely compensated me very humbly. Thank you to whoever I felt with and I will say I absolutely love the fly box I purchased separately from them.
