It is pretty quiet. I have 2 large dogs and a puppy, it works really well. Be mindful that if you are grinding a nail too long, it will get hot and the dog will feel the burn. I move between two nails to break it up so each nail doesn’t get too hot. One charge does all 3 dogs with some leftover which is great. Follow the instructions to be sure you hold it at the right angle on the toenails. Would recommend doing once a week-ish after you do it the first time. The first time will take longer than weekly maintenance. This has been a game changer!

I ordered the extra-hard and soft replacement heads for a different grinder. They fit perfectly. The extra-hard diamond wheel has been a miracle in my attempt to reduce the length of our Staffy's talon-length nails (he is not a fan of having his paws touched so it's always a stressful time for him).So far, I've gotten 4 uses from the new wheel and it appears to have plenty left to give. Using the extra hard wheel also reduces my time and pressure on each nail, which helps his stress level. I now feel confident that I'll be able to move his quicks back and reduce the length of his nails over the next few months. To me, that's a miracle because I had all but given up on this...it's been a challenge we inherited from his shelter days.He still doesn't like getting his nails done however I can get the job done in a quarter of the time it took before using a regular diamond wheel. Reduces friction, reduces heat generated, reduces the chance of bruising his nails ( yep, that's an actual thing when using a grinder), and reduces the time spent stressing him out. I will definitely order another when I need it! Extra hard diamond wheel for the win!

Received my grinder sooner than expected. When I opened it thought, so small this is not going to be for me? To my surprise this small nail trimmer DID A GREAT JOB, DID’NT BOG DOWN, DID’NT BURN THE NAILS, DID’NT SCARE MY DOG. UPDATE 7.13.23: Increased to 5 stars. Have been using these now for several months and they're holding the grit very well. They are worth the price.original review: The good part is they're much more abrasive than others - some brands I've used were practically worn out after one use. The head didn't stay tight in the grinder a couple times came up and could have caused a hair tangling disaster, thankfully that didn't happen. (My Lucy has hairy toes) My other issue is the price. I thought it was high at 19 and now they're 24! I marked it at a neutral 3 stars because I think 24 is just too much to pay. Now if the months go by and I'm still using the same grinding head, to be fair to the company, I will come back and up the star rating.

I bought a LuckyTail Nail Grinder and stones and they are hands down one of my favourite purchases for my dogs! These grinder replacement bits are amazing and you get the perfectly buff nails every time! Also, customer service and support at Lucky Tail are phenomenal!!! Happy Grinding!

The shaft is a little longer than the original one but seems to fit .Expensive but I need it for the Lucky tail grinder.Excellent customer service and delivery .

Did not really know what to expect from this item but it turned out to be a little ripper! Our tiny fur son has always been hysterical about having his nails done so we have always ended up getting the ladies at his vet clinic do them for us. As first he wouldn't stay still for us to use this gizmo, so we just kept it laying around where he normally hangs out (our bed - so he can watch the telly). After a short while he seemed to get used to it being a part of the furniture and would stay calm when we used it on him, for 2-3 nails. We just kept repeating this strategy until he eventually allowed us to do two complete paws in one session. We've now got him quite comfy with three paws before he gets antsy, and are slowly working on that final step for the little guy. We still leave the unit laying on top of the bed 24/7 and this as much as anything seems to have helped him come to terms with it being in close proximity. Actually, he often has naps whilst laying on it! So even if your dog is a nail-cutting hysteric, just work on the familiarity aspect and the unit will do the rest as t is super quiet and imparts no discomfort or pain. Bloody great buy!
