Geeni Smart Garage Door Opener, WiFi App Controlled Garage Opener, Compatible with Alexa and Google Home, No Remote Required

Instructions were clear enough for any handyman or do-it-yourselfer. The compatibility guide doesn't do a real good job of clearly showing which models are compatible. My door opener has a purple learn button and the description says it won't work on a door opener with a purple (or yellow) button. But I thought I found my model in the compatibility list and bought it anyway, since I knew I could return it if it didn't work. Works just fine. Integrates with Geeni app, Google Home, and Alexa without any hiccups. I am able to access it through Android Auto when I'm in my vehicle. I can open or close the garage door whether I am at home, work, or the ballpark. I now have the same functionality of a wi-fi garage door opener without having to spend hundreds on a new one. Awesome!

Better than those wireless outdoor keypads! The install was simple and the device integrated with Google easily. The smartphone app (although basic) is free and works well. The best part... your garage door can be opened or closed from anywhere. A built in sensor mounted to the door can also prompt cell notifications if your garage door is left open for an extended period.

This is an inexpensive way to make your garage door smart. Overall I’m happy with this Geeni product. I own several Geeni products from Plugs and cams. This was simple to install. The magnetic sensor needs to be installed in a way it will not interfere with anything. I need to adjust mine as it’s hitting a rail. It works with Alexa that requires you to setup a verbal PIN number to open, but not to close. I’m not sure why this feature is required as it’s annoying. I wish they would remove this. If your using Alexa to open your garage door, you’re doing it from inside your home. Being able to see if you left it open is a great feature and the notifications you get if you did leave it opened is also a great a feature as I have left my door opened a few times not realizing something stopped it from closing. The only downfall and I hope Geeni reads this is it needs to also integrate with Siri. It would be nice to pull up to your home and using apple car play say “ Hey Siri open the garage door”. There’s no option for a Siri short cut. This along with the pin code is the only reason for 4 stars and not 5. Of these features are added and removed I will change it to 5 stars.

Installs easy enough and works great with their app. But, if you are lookign for Alexa integration... keep looking. I installed in smart home skills, as indicated (although actual differs from their instructions slightly... but easy enough to figure out with newer software). Alexa links fine... finds the device... and request security code to open... then ALexa tells me it is already open... despite the geeni app and the actual door showing it is closed. So... NO GO.

Easy to install and works well. The app gets a little confused when the door is operated by another remote or the wall button though. Overall, it has been great addon to a 20 year old garage door opener. The sensor for checking open / close has plenty of range for positioning. Includes option to add scheduled actions to ensure that the garage door is closed for the night. We have left it open all night on several occasions. Never again.

I've been using this for about 2 months now and have had zero issues out of it. It is installed on a 1995 Craftsman garage door opener. Super easy to install. A little time consuming for people like me who want it to look really good and clean but easy nonetheless. I have not once had an issue with Alexa opening or closing it. I use an Echo Dot, Echo Show 5 and/or the Alexa app on my phone flawlessly. The app you download for the product itself it more informative with showing rather the door is currently open or closed and it functions just as well but I was already setup with Alexa throughout my home long before this purchase so that route is just more convenient for us.

Product was great out the box. Easy to install. After 6 months stopped connecting. We removed from geeni app and try to reconnect via same router and WIFI account. Try all the methods of connecting without success. Customer service does not answer telephone calls nor do they answer chat. We have quite a bit of their products installed. We might have to consider another vendor that is more reliable and customer friendly.

Bought this despite it not being compatible based on another reviewer who got it to work just fine. I was not able to get the geeni to work connected directly to the garage door opener, but strangely enough, it did work when connected to the wired switch used to open the garage door from inside. I have a feeling that was due to the wires not being inserted all the way into the small holes. Anyway, it works great once you have installed the sensors letting you know the door is opened or closed. Very satisfied with this purchase.
