In the past I've bought FINEX cast iron cookware. As far as I am concerned it is among the best. It is a favourite of mine. I have a number of stainless steel Dutch Oven cookwares in the range of 5 quarts. I have an antique cast iron 8 quart Dutch Oven that was passed down to me. Too big and too heavy for making recipes for only 2 people. The quality of the FINEX is excellent. No disputing about that. It is heavy built and is heavy made. Very effective for making very even heat on the inside, and maintaining stable temperature. The lid that comes with this pot is also of superior quality along with this Dutch Oven. As for ease of cleaning, it is not difficult to clean unless you burn something to it. Depending on what you cook in it will make for the amount of work to clean it. Care must be taken to keep this unit properly seasoned as like any type of cast iron cookware. Before putting it away I make sure it is very dry, and I rub on a slight coating of oil to keep its surfaces in good condition. FINEX offers instructions about how to season their cookware, how clean them, and how to keep them properly seasoned. Not difficult, and is worth the time, cost, and effort. I also have the FINEX 12" grill pan, 10" frying pan, and their dual burner griddle pan. My wife and I make many types of dinners using these cookwares. We are using these on an induction cook top. We put a high temperature Teflon protection mat under the pan to prevent the pan from scratching or damaging the ceramic cook top surface. This mat type is also known as a BBQ mat. Parchment paper should also work very well.

If you have the right kind of gal or guy to shop for, this is a super gift. They will look it up and know you splurged a little on them, but it has to be someone that will really appreciate cast iron cookware and the little different care it takes. Also, don't buy this for your frail grandmother ... at 16 pounds, before you load beef, potatoes, and onions, it is a load to heft and move around.

This dutch oven is not good quality. Gives food a rust/heavy metal smell taste. Rusted on first use. food tastes like metal pipe. Looks nice, but terrible for quality.

I bought this product for my wife for a Christmas present. I chose this from the last Finex product that i purchased which was absolutely fantastic. When she opened the box it was rusted. We seasoned it several times to remove the rust. It worked for one cooking and when back to being rusted. We are now into two months and after several seasoning it continues to rust. Needless to say I am very disappointed because we purchased this product based on the previous item we purchased. I will update my review if I get any satisfaction. Update: It took 4 seasonings but we finally won the battle. The Dutch oven finally succumbed to our seasoning and has performed perfect. I was disappointed that we had to do that but mox nix. It is good to go now...
