How long does the battery last on its runtime ? And how long does it take to charge ? Thanks

Battery quite capable for average garden, Charges up in about 1 hour. I have 1/2 an acre so I have 2 batteries

Will it damage small trees and hedges?

I have to say that it is most disappointing. It hardly damages the grass . If you get anywhere near a tree or hedge the blade will fly off. I was getting through 5 or 6 blades a session. So the answer to your question is probably not. I also have to say that I have just been out and bought a line strimmer, much better.

Is this easy to assemble?

Yes, there is nothing to assemble really. The battery charge bit just slots in the top and away you go.

Is it any good at trimming near gravel boards etc or is it only good for grass borders away from fences walls etc?

good but wears the blade down quickly
