Hello Popeye forearms, good bye fat. These ropes are heavy, not at first of course, but after a bit you can feel it in your shoulders and forearms. You begin to get tired and after a bit of use, you get bored, so do tricks, you have to change it up for muscle memory reset, anyway. You will burn calories, you will burn fat, as long as you eat healthy and not plow down half a dozen cheese burgers right after. Belive it or not you will start to see results in a couple of months. I can see why boxers love these things. The rope itself is heavy and well made. Length is adjustable by hand placement and grip is strong. Jump rope has always been easy to pick up and cheap fun to do. Good for your health and your paycheck.

Soft but VERY durable and well made. This rope will last a long time and does not kink or twist. If you are looking for a weighted jump rope, I think this is a very good one to buy, especially for the price.

Well-made, sturdy, easy to clean, and straightforward weighted jump rope. It has similar thickness to a battle rope, has the sleeve as advertised and is easy to wipe down should you get it dirty. I bought the 3lb/1.3 kg one and it does what I expect it to. It shipped in a plastic bag with the nylon carry bag and exercise/stretch guide as seen in the picture. I'm 5' 8"/~172 cm and the rope length is perfect for me to use on the coated handles. Adjust where you hold it for more/less length; my 6' friend had no problem holding it lower, and my 5' 4" wife just had to hold it up past the coated handle for reference. I don't have much upper body strength, however I didn't notice the shoulder pain as much as my wife when she tried it. Since these don't have a rotating handle, you do need to rotate the rope in either your wrists, elbows or both. I rotate with my wrists keeping my elbows close to my body and feel the fatigue there after a short time, so where you hurt will probably have more to do with technique. I like jump with this for 30-60 seconds, then tie it around my chest for a little weight and switch to a non-weighted rope. It's a great tool to have and I saw a guy on Youtube tying it around handrails to do pull-ups or rows with. Very creative, do so at your own risk haha. I might try the other brand red/blue rope with the plastic rotating handles or a knockoff Crossrope in the future; no shame, they look and feel nice but not $150+ nice. For ~$20 it's great to at least try and see if you'd like a weighted rope. I would probably get the other brand with the handles since it's only a few dollars more and it checks the "exciting colors" box in my mind. Until I do this is a 5 star from me.

Do not underestimate the weight. 3lbs sounds nothing, but when you swing the rope, it will feel heavier with centrifugal force. Also it is one thing to do a couple of jumps, but another if you use it for 10 minutes. I do not recommend it for beginners. Another thing, it rotates slower than regular jumping rope, so you can not use it to do speed skipping.
