Beautiful life lesson
My daughter read this book for character day at school. The kids and teaches loved it. The main idea and concept is perfect for kids now a day who always seem to be moving in a fast pace. And the message at the end is amazing for people of all ages.

Best picture book ever
My daughter has a whole library of picture books and this book stands out. The illustrations are beautiful and the message is sweet and important. If you have a child that never slows down, you must get this book. Even if you don't have a child who goes in the fast lane, it is a wonderful story about differences and finding a middle ground.

a friendship tale with an important lesson about mindfulness
“Mindful Mr. Sloth” by author/illustrator Katy Hudson is a humorous friendship story and a modern fable about the importance of mindfulness. Sasha Patience Pruitt is the spunky protagonist. Sasha’s middle name is ironic, as she is descried as having only one speed: “fast”. She rushes through her daily activities until Mr. Sloth crash lands on her treehouse. Sasha is thrilled to introduce her new friend to life in the fast lane, but Mr. Sloth cannot keep up with her frantically paced play. During a neighborhood bike race Mr. Sloth is finally able to get Sasha to slow down, stop, and discover the beauty in a world at rest. The book concludes with some tips on mindfulness. This title would be a great companion read with Julia Denos’ “Here and Now” and Antoinette Portis’ “Now”.

Engaging and a lesson for mindfulness.
I bought this book to read aloud to my second students and teach them unfamiliar vocabulary words. Fun story and engaging story with a theme to slow down and enjoy the moment.
