Worked out well.
Gave buying tires from Amazon a try. Delivery was prompt and as promised. Installation went reasonably well, took a bit longer then anticipated, but it worked out. Tires were new. DOT code indicated less than three months old. I only have a few miles on the tires themselves, so I really can't speak to longevity yet, but they are reasonably quiet and seem to track well. They also helped reduce vibration in my old van. All in all, I would do it again.
