Decepcion Total

and low pitch noises like an engine or an airconditioner are relatively well silenced
The sound reduction is minimal. Your surroundings will be mufffled, and low pitch noises like an engine or an airconditioner are relatively well silenced, however normal other noises, that are most distracting (like speech, or someone walking) are not at all diminished. I could still hear someone calling my name across the house with these one.As well, they are TERRIBLY uncomfortable. The headband has no padding at all, so I can feel the metal rods inside it pushing on my scalp. And because these headphones try to make a tight seal on your head, the pressure it applies is large enough that its actually quite painful to wear for longer than maybe 40 minutes. I usually end up getting a headache afterwards, and just end up using earplugsThe only good thing about these is their compact size. The fact that they fold up into a handful sized package is really nice and makes travelling with them much more convenient. But if you are looking for a product to help you study or sleep these are NOT for you. I wish I returned them in time and got something else.

nice fit.
These provide a very good fit for me. I wish they isolated more from sound though. I have received peltors, and I must say, the fit of the Howard Leights seems to be much better. The headband is better than the headband of the Peltors, but the Peltor X5A are supposed to provide the most isolation. I will have to consider getting another pair of Howard Leights if they make ones with more sound protection than this model.

Hot ears
bought these to muffle the airplane noise on a very long set of flights to and from India. I was able to put my apple earphones in under these and listen to programs at a very low volume. After 12+ hours of wearing though, the compression on my head was a bit much. The lack of airflow also resulted in sweaty ears. I think I might want to look for a similar product that has the earphones built in if I am to do more of these around the world trips.

I don't know if it's me or if they are all like that. They don't hurt on long term use ...
Sits a little tight on the head. I don't know if it's me or if they are all like that. They don't hurt on long term use and are still easy to get on and off but noticeable. Blocked the noise from my circular saw well though so there's that.
