A Weaver's Book of 8-Shaft Patterns: From the Friends of Handwoven

I’ve only had the chance to glance through this book so far but it is loaded with patterns and techniques. Looks to be a good resource from beginner to experienced weavers.

This is a wonderful book to help you springboard into new and different 8 shaft patterns. The photos are in black and white. At first I thought that would be a hindrance, but now I appreciate not being influenced by the demonstrating weaver's color choice. In black and white, the pattern is clear. I use this reference quite often.

Wow! Much information on weaving structure, hundreds of examples via photos of weaving samples and draw downs and tie ups. Whenever I start thinking about a certain weaving project, I turn to this book to refresh my mind and get ideas. A great book!

A beautiful collection of patterns for 8 shafts. It will keep me going for the rest of my life!

I bought this book for my wife, who loves to weave. So far she has worked on 4 shaft looms, but we recently ordered her a new 8 shaft one. We didn’t think it was so hard to find patterns for 8 shaft looms. We were very happy to find this book. A real gap-filling work.

This book is in black and white but for me that is not a problem, the layouts are simple to understand and each page gives you a set of threadings and lifts in order to achieve the works shown. It is a book I had considered purchasing for a long time and am now grateful that I did. I would advise anyone interested in putting a warp on their loom that they can continue to use in different ways - this is the book to have.

This book is a must have for weavers! again would recommend this for advanced weavers who hav good working knowledge of weaving and intermediate weavers who want to try something new on loom. All the weaves have been represented with sample swatch images. Wish the images were in color. A must have for weaving as well!
