Powerful and versatile — almost like a laptop
The iPad Pro 11” (11th Gen) is a fantastic device. I use it every day for everything — watching content, gaming, drawing, photo editing, and even reviewing blueprints. It’s fast, smooth, and incredibly responsive. The only thing I wish is that we could get full desktop versions of some apps, not just mobile versions. That would take it to the next level. Still, it’s an amazing device that handles almost anything you throw at it.

Excellent device with some glaring omissions
This device is amazing. Sleek, fast with m1, screen is beautiful. All that Apple needs to do is to update iPadOS so that it has better: 1) multitasking and windowing support; 2) a file management app that actually has a format media and an unmount media function (as it stands you can’t currently unmount your external disk safely on iPadOS14.. which can lead to data loss, and you also can’t format a disk using the iPad); 3) multi-monitor support that uses the full aspect ratio of the external display and can display in extended mode. As it stands, the current implementation on iPadOS is to display a mirrored image of the iPad’s screen onto an external monitor. There’s no ability on a system level to display a separate image on the external monitor (some apps have this function but it’s a per-app feature rather than a system wide feature). This defeats the whole point of using a monitor with the iPad in the first place. I don’t want the image to be mirrored. The second issue with multi monitor support is a more egregious limitation in my opinion. That is, the iPad will not by default display an image on the external monitor in its native aspect ratio. Most monitors these days are 16x9 or 16x10, but the iPad will by default display its image in 4x3 mode, meaning there will be black bars to the sides of the image on the external monitor. This is egregious. The iPad only uses a portion of the external monitor instead of using the whole screen. The very same m1 chip inside the iPad Pro is also inside of various macs, and all of these m1 devices except the iPad can display an image to an external monitor in the monitor’s native aspect ratio. So this is a limitation that Apple has chosen to allow to exist. Apple really needs to fix this. But other than these quirks and limitations, the iPad Pro is a fabulous device. I love it.

M1 power
Late review but this is a testament to how powerful the M1 has been in an ipad. Battery is still going strong, I have been able to do everything I need with no issues. I can even play games in 120 fps which isn’t even an option on desktop. I will say though 8gb of memory has aged while the M1 is still strong. The 8gb isn’t enough for ipados 26. The features in this version OS are great and going back to a version would be a downgrade. For anyone still able to find an m1 ipad, make sure you got 16gb memory for the modern era. I see noticeable lag running things. If you are running different OS you’ll be fine.

Don’t hesitate
I was looking to replace my iPad Pro 2016 9.7” model. To me, the Pro is worth paying a little bit more for, and when I saw it on Amazon for $100 off the Apple price, I had to jump on it. It didn’t disappoint. The gen 3 iPad is beautiful. It’s a bit heavier than my older Pro but the M1 with 8GB RAM and 120hz speed is phenomenal. This iPad rocks and I love having 4 speakers as well. Set up was a breeze and took under an hour to restore this iPad to my old iPad settings via the cloud. It also has a feature where you can set it next to your old iPad and it will transfer the data automatically. It is extremely well-built as usual, and the response is incredible. If I had any complaints it would be the short charging cord. For the price of these tablets you’d think apple could give us another 2 ft. Also, there’s no way you’re getting “all-day” power unless it’s just minimal activity. However, it certainly lasts long enough for my marathon art sessions. Highly recommend this beauty, especially at these great prices. If only the iPencil would go on sale, but it never does. This tablet lives up to the hype!

iPads are the best tablets - iPad Pro’s are the best iPad .
iPad Pro is a true alternative to a MacBook. I use my iPad Pro 5 times more often than my $3k MacBook Pro. Personally, I do also use the Apple keyboard case which is more expensive than it should be.
