great addition to food preparedness
I'm buying calories. I am buying calories to tuck away for use after all other calories have been consumed. I have this and know it is available. I dont need to worry about it. It is there as part of my "calorie savings account". Not worried about taste, not worried about anything other than calories- preferably a variety of flavors with a good ratio of macros (fat, protein, carbohydrates). Emergency food is what it is, and what it will be. With increasing prices, todays caloric purchase is a savings over tomorrows. So no, I haven't tried it. I HAVE used other Augason Farms products for daily life use and have been pleased. I regularly buy Augason Farms (best price point, best sales). I have tried those items only because the sale price was better than buying non emergency packed food items. I use a lot of tomato powder, dehydrated vegetables, protein crumbles, etc.. and once in awhile a sale will work in my favor. That is when I will buy 2 of something. One for now, one for way later. Rinse and repeat.Certain food items have at least 25 year shelf life, some items are 10 years. No matter, I will eat it all 30 years down the line if need be. Foods dont just go "bad". The date is not a safety issue. It is a quality issue. So maybe the smell, taste, texture, or vitamin content alters a little over time, but it is still edible. Calories are still there. If you want to be sure of a tasty meal that is within the best by date range, then simple stack your pantry with foods that you know and love. Rotate. Have a "working pantry" that you grab from on a daily basis, then have a "storage pantry" that works as your own in home "store". It also serves as your emergency preps. When you need to pull from your storage pantry, be sure to replace. Keep adding to it, one or two cans at a time. one or two bags of something at a time. Emergency food does not need to be emergency packaged food (prices are higher for the packaging, uniformity, processing etc). If "emergency" packaged food is outside your budget, then dont bother. If it is something you are keen on, then look for sales regularly (maybe daily) and buy when the good price strikes. Of course, you can look into creating your own long term storage meals too (mylar, oxy absorbers, pails, etc).Just.. have something. Dont be someone who has bare shelves and scoffs at preparedness because emergency meals taste bad. Nah, buy what is good to you, buy what is affordable to you, buy basic stuff or buy fancy emergency stuff. But have stuff. Prices aren't coming down, prices will continue to go up, food will be harder to come by. So at the very least consider it an investment. And if there is a true need for it in terms of *vaguely gestures around* all else that is going on (weather events, political events, ww3, etc) then you wont be scrambling, begging off neighbors, stealing, etc.So current $60 for nearly 20,000 calories of a variety of food? Not too shabby in light of everything. (same $60 can buy a lot more calories, but be sure to store well for max "freshness").

A Must Have
This item is essential for emergencies. If you ever need to use it, that’s great; and if you don’t need it, that’s fine too. At least you’ll have something prepared for a natural disaster. The shelf life is quite long, so if you don’t end up using it, you can always donate it to a charity or a homeless shelter. It’s never a waste of money. Cheers!

Delicious but hard to open
I bought this just in case TSHTF And grid goes down. I wasn't going to open it until if and when, but then I thought. Well crap what if it tastes horrible? So today I opened it. First, make sure that you've got the container pre-opened. It is really hard to open. And you may cut yourself trying. Or maybe I just don't know how to do it. But it took me a good half hour 45 minutes to get the thing pried open. I mean goodness zombies could have gotten me by then, LOL. Other than that so far I've had the strawberry cream breakfast cream of wheat this morning. I have to say it was really good. Very tasty. Very filling and I think there's four servings in each pouch. Since it's only me, I have breakfast for the next three mornings now. I'll be trying a few of the other things tonight. I'll update as I go along. But if you are a prepper, you might want to get this. The cost is quite reasonable. Good job Augason Farms. I'm impressed so far. 🤩👍UPDATE- The potato soup is delicious too

Consistent quality w/ competitive cost.
Been competitively pricing - taking a small samples of other companies offerings. This one will be a sample also. Arguson farms has consistent quality with their dried fruits etc as well as great competitive pricing. They're providing a fantastic service. Even though I have purchased from other online companies that do this there was great disappointment in some of their hype because well one of them they're broccoli rice soup was inedible it wouldn't no matter how long you cooked it or soaked the rice it would never soften up. That's when I decided to do research and not just buy because of hype.Hoping this sample which was on sale as Arguson farms puts their products on sale a lot here on Amazon. Thus keeping the price extremely competitive against others who sell with their own websites. As a matter of fact I finally figured out the biggest advertiser on the internet for this type of item does not provide serving sizes when you try to purchase because they don't want you to know how expensive they really are!So far products from Arguson have been very delicious, not powdered to dust by shipping. Blueberries are to die for. I will return placiymore information as to quality the supplies were after using them.Where I live You can be trapped in your home due to excess snow or extreme weather, fire, etc. Yesit is Southern California
