Samsung 2.1Ch Soundbar 2021 Black - HW-A550/ZM

Excellent sound for the price. Was skeptical before buying due to the reviews. Reviews are rigged and often the same for all the product line up of samsung soundbars. Ideal for music and gaming. Dialogues on Some Netflix shows gets muffled and you need to change the sound preset, adaptive sound preset is a gimmick. DTS works pretty well, Dolby works just fine.

Just arrived and connected, amazing and if you would like better dialogue sound go for center speaker models, as a medium range is fantastic

Thisbis a solid quality item with decent sound and bass. If you are an audiophile you might want to look past this one but very good for the price (on certain streaming apps it reverts to the tv speaker but fine for main apps like Netflix).

The sound-bar does what it says it does The woofa and sound are amazing. U get all little background noise on a movie.

The item is working and sounds great, all the cables were included (except for the optical cable, so if your TV doesn't have HDMI ARC out connection, you will have to buy one). The biggest disappointment was the absence of the remote control with it, which suppose to be there. And there is no way to get it but to refund the item completely. Please keep that in mind and don't damage or throw the box till you are sure it came with the remote.

Voice not good due to high bass.

Can use maybe as computer speakers, not for tv..

Item malfunction after 2.5 months of usage.

This was my move from the built-in tv speakers to something external. HOLY COW. What a difference. I used to have to turn the tv speakers up to about 60 to hear quiet movie scenes, especially if the kids were playing in the background. The tv speakers seemed to not get any louder once you hit about 30. This soundbar is GREAT. The first movie I watched after I got it was Mad Max. The sound experience was incredible compared to what I had before. I used the included digital audio wire to connected directly to the TV (Sony LED tv from 2011) and there was no lag between the screen and the audio. The speaker turns on automatically when I turn on the tv. The onyl negative is that I have to use 2 different remotes now, since I can't control the audio on the tv. The volume must be controlled via the soundbar remote instead of the tv. This may be different for other tvs, and I suspect a Samsung TV would maybe allow this? I've also used the bluetooth for playing music through my phone via Spotify. It works great. Pairs easily, easy to change the input on the soundbar with the remote to bluetooth, and start playing. For my application, it sits on top of the mantle, and I love the minimalist look. It's not super noticeable, and is easy to put some decor around or in front. The setup was really easy. The wireless subwoofer connected right away, and I haven't had any issues with it. I have it positioned about 10 feet from the soundbar behind a recliner in a corner. I also like that you can control how much bass boost via the remote. This allows you to tune more or less subwoofer to the sound and you can really tell the difference when you change it. I'll probably be getting another one of these when I finish my basement.

La calidad es increíble, el volumen que alcanza es bastante alto, los diálogos son claros. Se puede controlar con el control remoto de la tv (Sony) al estar conectada por medio de HDMI. Superó mis expectativas.

Me gusto mucho el sonido que ofrece esta barra de sonido , la verdad es mas de lo que esperaba.

I don’t watch tv every day, and when I do I watch I maybe an hour or so. I’m not looking for or expecting a sound system that will blow me away. I wanted something that takes up minima space, and had better clarity than TV speakers. I got this on sale for around $110, and for the price the A550 works well. It pairs with the sub so you can place the sub where you want it and you don’t need to worry about routing wires. It also pairs with your phone so you can play music from it. The soundbar looks clean and doesn’t have annoying lights. You can mount it on the wall if you want. It’s just a soundbar, so be aware it is not as “full” sounding as having 5 physical speakers for 5.1. It can use HDMI ARC, HDMI, or optical and BT for other devices. Gripes: 1. When using Optical the sound cut out. Not sure why, but I switched to HDMI. 2. Installing updates requires downloading a file to a certain type of flash drive, and then inserting into the soundbar. There is instructions on it, but some of my flash drives were incompatible.

I GOT THIS, A 550 SOUNDBAR , WITH A BLACK FRIDAY DISCOUNT TO GO WITH MY NEWLY BOUGHT 50 INCH SAMSUNG TV . AFTER HOOKING UP THE SOUND BAR TO MY TV'S HDMI ARC PORT AND PUTTING THE SUB WOOFER ACROSS THE ROOM BEHIND WHERE WE SIT TO WATCH TV , I TURNED ON THE TV AND WAS REALLY SURPRISED . I DID NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING AS THE TV AND SOUNDBAR PAIRED TOGETHER ON THERE OWN , A TRUE PLUG AND PLAY . AS FOR THE SOUND , IT WAS VERY GOOD , HEADS AND TAILS ABOVE THE TV'S SPEAKERS AND AS I LIKE A LITTLE MORE BASS I SIMPLY WENT INTO THE SOUND MENU AND ADJUSTED THE BASS A LITTLE HIGHER . I GAVE THIS 4 STARS AS I DID HAVE TO ADJUST THE LATENCY CONTROL A LITTLE TO MAKE SURE THE VOICE MATCHED THE PERSON SPEAKING , IT WAS CLOSE SO I ONLY MOVED IT 1 CLICK AND THEN IT WAS PERFECT . GREAT SOUND FOR THE MONEY AND USE I USE THE DTX SOUND FIELD AS I THOUGHT IT SOUNDED THE BEST ! I JUST READ PATRICK G 'S REVIEW FROM JUNE 6 2022 AND WAS SUPRISED TO LEARN THAT THE REMOTE FOR VOL AND WOOFER IS A TOOGLE SWITCH , UP AND DOWN . I DID NOT KNOW THIS EITHER UNTILL NOW AND I'VE OWNED THE 550 FOR AWHILE NOW . IT JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT YOU CAN LEARN ALOT FROM THE OTHER BUYER'S --- THANKS PAT !!!
