Works great for short tubes
I ended up purchasing a 3 foot 7/16-20 rod and matching nuts to finish the job. I had a 12 inch tube through the transom of my boat. The fine thread rod seemed to do a better job than the provided short coarse thread bolt that some others said required a lot of force. I can't really complain about the purchase as I knew from the start I would need a longer threaded rod. I replaced the 4 tubes easily and I am happy with the results. Recommend putting the copper washer between the steel washer and the flare fitting to slip without deforming. Molybdenum grease on the threads helps reduce required torque force. Overall, I would do the same again. Mfr should consider an 18 inch fine thread rod.

Worked perfectly!
Worked perfectly flaring the seasense brass drain tube. Yes there are no instructions but it is easy enough to figure out, use it like any other flaring tool and use the flaring dimple as a gauge of how much excess to cut off (watch a video on how to flare brake lines if you need more help, just remember you have to cut the tube rather than move a clamping tool. (Lol I hope that makes sense and can help someone). The picture attached is the end that’s was only flared using this tool, not the pre flared end of the seasense drain tube.
