Great Product
I must admit I am impressed with this product. It is such a simple idea but very effective. The magnet itself is strong enough to hold both my wife's iPhone and my Droid Razr. The magnet is very small which is something that is not necessarily displayed in the photos (about the size of the tip of one's pinkie finger). I have not had any issues with the magnet losing grip on the air vent. Make sure you tighten carefully and hold the clip as you tighten so as to not snap the air vent. If I could critique one element of this is that the metal plate they give you to attach to the phone does not provide enough stickness. I tried simply applying the plate to a lifeproof and otterbox case and they did not hold. However, a touch of super glue did the trick just fine. The metal plate is not obtrusive in my opinion but can leave your phone unbalanced when you lay it on a flat surface. In terms of the fit on your air vent, simply hold up your phone to where you would like to install the product. The placement of the magnet (and plate) needs to be ~1/4 to 1/3 from the top of your phone (to ensure the phone sits upright and does not become too top heavy). When you place your phone up to the vent the distance between your phone and the actual vent slot should be about three quarters of an inch or less. If you find that the distance is much more than a full inch away, this product may not be effective.

Very Useful
I would have had a hard time understanding what this thing is except someone in our office has one and raved about it. You just place the mount on a fin of your air vent and twist the ring until the player-like arms grip it tightly. You also adhere a small magnet to the back of your phone. Then when you get in your car, you just slap your phone on the mount and it holds in place. You can easily rotate from landscape to portrait and pull it off and put it back on.I didn't want to glue the magnet to the back of my phone, and I wanted the phone to lie flat, so I drilled a hole the size of the magnet (about a 3/8" circle) in the back of my case and adhered it to a thin piece of plastic I put inside. The magnet is only about 1/16" thick. It comes with 5 magnets of slightly different sizes, so you could put them on more than one device if you wanted.Great for turn-by-turn navigation on trips.

Clever little thing, this ... but make sure you measure your vent "knob"
The design is really simple. Turning the round top tightens the clamp onto the vent louvers. It's easy and will most likely work with almost any vent type. But, if you've got one of those vents with the stupid guiding knob in the middle, and the knob sticks out more than 3/4 inch, then this one may not work for you. The problem: the knob on your vent will get in the way and your phone/gps won't be able to reach the magnet. They do provide a slightly larger metal button for your phone but even so it may be a stretch.Other than that, hats off to the person who came up with this design.

Better than expected
My only knock on this thing is the strength if the vise grip. The magnet tends to come off the vent when you take your phone. Other then that, the phone stays firmly attached to the vent and can even rotate between landscape and portrait mode. I've use this thing on three cars including a rental car. It's super handy and perfect for using the navigation apps. Works equally well on the light iPhone 5 and the larger new HTC one.

Great little mighty mount!
I have been looking for a phone mount for a little while and was lucky enough to come across this one. Most airvent mounts on the market today are big and bulky. They are also generally made of plastic. The Tetrax Geo is a well made mount. It is constructed of metal and has rubber covering the prongs that attach to the airvents of your car. The magnets on it are strong for their size and can easily hold a small to medium size device. I have an iPhone 5 and the Tetrax Geo holds it securely. I like the fact that is a very small and barely noticeable. This mount is also very portable and can easily be taken with you on a trip and used in a rental car.

Works like it should but
I had to glue the device to the vent clip as the clamp has rubber pads that cause it to slip off when pulling the phone out. I wanted something that did not look gadget like to a new Lexus and this is very subtle and the nub on the back of the phone is not very intrusive and keeps the phone relatively flat. I like it.

A neat, low profile magnetic holder.....
Potent magnet. My only criticism is that the little "legs" do not grip as strongly as would be needed to not pull the entire assembly out with the phone. As a result, the phone must be removed from the magnet carefully with both hands.

Great for summer months
Works as described. Great for summer months, keeps iPhone cooler by vent as being charged and GPS being used in car. Thought worth as priced... but bumped it to 4 stars after leaving one in rental car (small, easy to forget) and realized more that it is on pricey side!

Tetrax Geo - Mobile Device Holder - great but not for a Galaxy S3
Pros:- great, awesome, fantastic concept- holds the air vent with so much grip it will not be pulled off (or fall off)- perfect for smaller devices but needs to have device mounted centrally if rotation is desired- so small it goes un-noticed until someone see's you use itCons:- none if purchased for the correct sized/weighted devices (it really is ingenious and several of my friends will be buying one for their smaller devices)Notes for a Samsung Galaxy S3 User- does not work well with a Samsung Galaxy S3 (to big/heavy) - but only because I often rotate my device and this throws the balance off a but- My case had to be customized (drill a hole in the back for the magnettic sticker the make contact with the receiver- it really is small (about 1cm in diameter). Packaging makes it look muhc bigger, but well produced and will hold up well in the right scenarios

Good product
I bought this to initially attach an Iphone 4 and later the Galaxy Note 3 to the car. It has worked well. However, there are several things worth noting (none of which would mean not purchasing it but all of which are worth noting).1. At times it is difficult to attach the device onto the holder (needs fine tuning/ adjustment)2. Sometimes when you come to remove the phone(s) the holder comes off with the phone3. At times the phone falls off, especially if there is a little centrifugal force exerted by taking a corner a little too sharply. When setting up attaching the metal disc onto the phone, I phone that it was best if you attached it to the middle upper part, as it provided maximum stability, easy of use and balance when set down onto a normal surface. Finally, because of points 1 & 2 I would recommend paying up for the X- holder over this as it provides greater stability and does not have the third issue.

Brilliant Product!
Great product and a great way to discreetly support your phone in the car ... absolutely love it.Now with regards to iPhones, what I have noticed about the product is it is situational ... depending on the user's dashboard geometry. In my case, my air vents are tilted towards my windscreen which enables the weight of my iPhone 4/4s to be fully supported by the Tetrax (Force Resolution theory for the math buffs) even around turns and road bumps. If the air vents are vertical or the tilt isn't enough I would imagine this will not have enough magnetic strength to support a bulky smartphone like the iPhone - this is probably what is happening to most people who did not find this useful for their iPhones, in which case you would probably want to buy the Tetrax XWAY for the additional support strength.Overall, great product with a great design.
