Best hold for my unruly handlebar!
As you can see from my photo, the wax i was previously using was simply not doing the job!For my wedding five years ago, the curls on my handlebar were about the size of a soup can, so I like to go big. At that time I was using a similarly made wax from an Austin. I was having issues with their formulation changing and quality of product and customer service. So I started searching and for the last year had not located anything close to the hold I need - 1 side of the mustache has a nice natural and the other side just goes down and to the right. That is it. The brand I just ran out of had more oil in the wax, so the hood was never there.Since I started growing the part of the mustache over my mouth longer, I found that the extra volume of hair really made it hard to keep in place - see the pic for reference. The 2-ounce can is a plus and the surprise guitar pick in the can was cool. More precise measuring of wax than using a fingernail. I went for the no scent this time, just for a change, and I really like how subtle the scent is.I started with a pea sized dab between the thumb and forefinger of each hand, rubbing the fingers together a bit to get the wax warmed up. I was surprised at how quickly the texture changed to just the way I like it - not sticky or greasy, more of a dry vibe when you put it on. I ended needing more to get things to stay put.And stay put it did. I only combed my mustache twice later in the day. Normally I am messing with it all day long.Looks good.Holds great!!!Long lasting!!!

Works well
I have tried a few different mustache waxes. Sudden death is the strongest and had the most staying power. I would rate Lucky Franc’s second. It’s a little bit softer in consistency but holds well. Overall a very good mustache wax. Update, I have been using a tar based product for mustache training and control for over a year. It works good. However, I have started using Lucky Franks again and I must say I like it better. It has a nice waxy feel which gives my mustache a more natural appearance than the tar based product. Very light scent. Great consistency and durability. I think it’s a five star grooming mustache wax. I increased my rating from last year’s 4 stars to 5. It’s excellent.

Good stuff
I’ve tried a bunch and of all the commercially available products, this is my favorite. I like that it’s unscented and it has a good hold. If you are doing handlebars or something like that you are probably going to have to work some extreme hold into the tips after. The combo makes for an all day set.

Not really any better than lip gloss.
While waiting to receive my beard wax, I resorted to using lip gloss to try to keep my beard in place. That worked fairly well. After 20 days when I received the beard wax, I was less than impressed with the guitar pick they provided to get the wax out of the container. The instructions said to rub it between your fingers to soften it. It did not soften very quickly. The beard wax worked OK, but it was difficult to apply it evenly enough to hold all the whiskers in place. I expected it to last all day, but found that its holding power was only a few hours. I may go back to lip gloss.

A great hold, without pine tar stickiness
AFter having a beard for decades, I decided to let it grow out. I tried a few products before this one. One had a great hold, but had too much pine tar. After doing m mustache, I had pine tar stuck to my hands. Honest Amish was nice, but not enough hold for me. Lucky Franc's is just right. Most of my mustache will do what I want, but I have those few hairs that just want's do their own way. Lucky Franc's keeps them in control.I heat it up with a hair dryer, then scrape some out with a guitar pic. After applying it to my mustache I will sometimes point my blow dryer across my mustache (so I don't take the heat directly) and comb each side out. As another reviewer pointed out, it is unscented, but not without a scent. For me, I never really notice, even when out and about during COVID with a mask on. When my wife kisses me, she doesn't care for the smell, but she is extremely sensitive to odors.I recommended this to my son, and he is also happy with the results. I would definitely recommend you give this a try.

Do not use to much. A little goes a long way.
Smells typical wax but it doesn't linger. Very easy to use and it will last for a long time.

Works well for my needs
Rather than write a review after a day or two of usage I’m writing this after using Lucky Franc’s on a regular basis for several weeks. My beard is an oversized "circle beard" or really a VERY large and long goatee that reaches down to my chest (yes, I’m retired and don’t need to satisfy my employer’s dress codes any longer). I’ve got fairly dense and wiry hair so a solid holding wax is needed to keep everything looking kempt and neat. Lucky Franc’s works quite well for me in these respects. So I’m definitely recommending it for a tryout on your mustache and beard.Personally, I’ve tried many waxes and balms over the years and I’ve found that the old adage of "your mileage may vary" fits well here. Lucky Franc’s may not work well for you, but because I’ve yet to see a “sampler” size offered anywhere for these products, we’re locked into buying a whole tin to find out how well it will work. Save the “rejects" and try mixing with other brands (a super strong with a lighter hold for example) and eventually you’ll get where you need to be.
