Good product
This 4% aspercream really works. The 1% does nothing. Only over the counter product that has actually helped with my pain

Works as expected.
This is part of a group of items used to control lower back pain. It provides a numbing effect that can be beneficial if you rub it in completely. Just slapping it on doesn't do much. When it's rubbed in it provides a deeper (but still not very deep) pain numbing. Use with heat and cold.

Part of the process
I love Aspercreme with lidocaine cream. I use it in a process with a few steps for very deep pain. The Aspercreme is always the first rubbed in. It starts working right away when you massage it in. For really bad pain, I add Icy Hot Max cream. Need more? Add a lidocaine patch. If ultimately worse, wrap with an Ace bandage type thing but stronger. There's more compression and I bought them and all the rest here on Amazon. Aspercreme is always my go to. The cream. Working it into the area really helps it work more quickly then a roller ball deal.

Works great.
Got it for my mom who has post shingles neuralgia. Nothing helped. She said she felt like she was in hell with pain. We tried everything on there the sun and all failed including otter lidocaine creams. This product however worked wonders.

OK
It does provide a tiny amount of relief, but don't expect a miracle. The cortisone injections don't even work anymore, so in all fairness, I'm probably headed for another day at the OR.Well, I tried, and I'm pretty sure this will be enough for a lot of people. My biggest complaint is the packaging. If I have pain in my hand, I really don't feel like wrestling with a cap that requires you to push down as you turn it! PLEASE change the cap to benefit others at least, since I won't be buying it anymore.

It's okay
I guess this is as good as it gets without a prescription. Does not take the pain away completely but it definitely increases the comfort level.
