TRUSCO Y-350-R Mountain Tool Box, 14.8 x 6.4 x 4.8 inches (373 x 164 x 124 mm), Red

I was pleasantly surprised at the design and workmanship of this toolbox. The components (top and bottom box) are moulded steel. No chance of sloppy or weak welds. It’s very sturdy, and has a good size for a variety of tools. A 16oz hammer fits nicely inside, leaving room for a variety of other household tools.

I purchased 3 of these in 2014, filled them with tools for my then older teen sons, and gifted them for Christmas, thinking it would be practical, but not appreciated until they were older. THEY HAVE LOVED THESE since the moment they got them, and they have used them countless times.These boxes are fantastic, heavy duty, and hard to dent or scratch. My only wish is that they were just a little bit larger, because honestly, you just never seem to have enough room for all the tools you aquire, but for a good standard hand tool kit, this is fantastic. You should however note, there is just no way you are fitting a power tool inside this box, this would be exclusively for a small set of basic powerless hand tools.

I'm extremely satisfied with this toolbox and will be buying more. I really like that there are no seams, just one piece of stamped carbon steel for the bottom, and another for the lid. The steel is sturdy and plenty thick to be durable. Everything is steel, the handle, latches, all of it. The latches open and close easily while still being tight enough to keep the lid from rattling when it's closed, and are sturdy enough to hold a lot of weight. I am not worried about it falling open while carrying it loaded with tools. The blue paint on this toolbox is gorgeous, and that's not something you hear much about tools this box is an actual investment and makes my more expensive plastic boxes look cheap sitting among them I absolutely plan on buying more.

I read the reviews on this box and I had none of the problems listed. No dents, no sharp edges, waterproof lid lip, good paint, red is red and metal plenty sturdy enough for me. Perfect size to mount for tractor toolbox.

This little tool box is exactly what we wanted. It needed to be small enough to fit on the tractor without getting in the way. The box seems to be made very well. It is slightly smaller at 11 inches, than the posted measurements of 12 inches but for us that is fine. I think the difference is the bottom is slightly smaller than the top. The depth of the box is just over 4 inches and front to back 5.5 inches at the bottom (top is slightly wider). We needed something to put a few tools in so we aren't walking across the field back to the garage for a screw driver. Most of the implements have their own tool box but the tractor did not. This holds the essential tools we might need for a minor adjustment. After having it for 28 years we thought it was time for a tool box, lol. Great purchase.

My wife has been into indoor and outdoor gardening for a few years now and has gone through many cheap garden tools so this year I decided to get her a full tool kit that should last a lifetime. I built the tool kit around this Toyo/Trusco Y-350 tool box because of it's functionality and beauty. It is an absolute pleasure to use a good quality tool or tool box. It holds all the tools pictured with plenty of room to add a few more tools to the kit. I think this size tool box is perfect for hobbies that require lots of small tools or a basic home owners tool kit. I am a big Toyo/Trusco fan and I got their plant lovers M-8 for my wife in the past.

Fit and finish are very good. Reasonably thick steel. I’m using it for a household toolbox; holds just enough basic tools to handle most around the house type chores and it keeps me from having to go out to the workshop in the barn.

I like this little tool box, but maybe more for its aesthetics than based on it being great. It’s understated — no ostentatious chrome lettering or surface logos. I like the subdued green drab color (brown undertones). Inside it is just a box. That’s great for holding a few simple tools that will fit in the space. What I don’t like is that, despite the smooth matte finish, some of the edges under the lip are quite sharp and jagged. Because of the powder coat, I don’t think I will sand it but I am tempted to pinch it with pliers or put some low tack tape on the edge to remind me not to grip it too hard. Granted, this is not a very expensive box, but I had come to expect more from this Japanese brand. I’ll give it a try and I’m sure that over time, I will forget and forgive these little inconsistencies.
