Though I was apprehensive about ordering the darkest tint (without total blackout}, I am so glad that I did! I did not attempt the installation myself because of 20-foot-high clerestory windows. Fortunately, my handman is a former window installer. He had no problems quickly applying the film to the windows. (I kept my exterior solar screens, also.} I am delighted that I can still see the sky through my windows while receiving significant glare and heat reduction. Broiling Texas sun had made my living room miserable in the afternoons, even with my solar screens. Now, I feel as though a giant shade tree has sprung up over my west side. At 91 degrees, it's now comfortable and pleasant in here without glare and without having to lower my AC thermostat as much. Though the Texas summer temps will be higher, I look forward to continuing to benefit from this enhancement.

I bought this window screen material to give me privacy in my garage... it does keep prying eyes out, and still allows some sunlight in. Kind of difficult to install, and the measuring has to be almost precise. The film can tear if the blade isn't sharp enough. Also, it was tricky getting the back film off so the sticky side could be applied. But after a bit, there is a trick to it. (They did put it in the directions; I just read it a bit late!) Once in place, I am so glad it's done and it works!

I haven’t had this long, but I just put it up and I’m including a picture of what the light looks like before and after installation. Hope this helps! I could definitely feel the difference after I put one side up. Also, there was no glare off of the walls inside like there were on the other windows. The exterior picture shows the film from the exterior on both sides of the window.

I was quoted almost $1000 for a company to do 9 total windows in my home that get baked by the sun lakeside. For Under $200 and about 3 hours of time, I was able to install this film with ease. I would buy a flat edge razor to make sure everything is scraped off of your windows prior to install. Make sure they are very clean! The only issue I had was trimming the edge on the first window, but using the plastic edge of squeegee to guide the razor blade worked wonders. Now I can workout in my walkout basement, or play oculus quest without my neighbors thinking I’m a weirdo!
