SEIKOSeries 5 Automatic White Dial Men's Watch SNKL84K1

I have collected a number of watches over the years, some Seiko, one or two Citizen, one Benrus and one Timex (the inexpensive ones) as well as several Skagen. All in all, with the exception of my vintage Marvin, which is mechanical, all of them have a quartz movement. Initially I wanted a Bulova as my first automatic but for some reason I never managed to pull the trigger. Enter this one: well-known brand, attractive design, size adequate for my wrist, light as a feather and cute as a button. A watch for informal occasions or state dinners, this Seiko does the job of keeping time while looking like the proverbial million bucks. Granted, you need to shake it or balance it to wind it up (it cannot be hacked or wound up with the crown), but if you rock it in your hands for about 30 seconds it's ready to go for a while. It's nicely finished, the case is a very elegant two-tone buffed stainless steel and it sits comfortably on the wrist. Even though I'm a big fan of the Skagen designs, this one has won me over and I enjoy wearing it. NB: during the first week it was a tad slow and fell behind a minute or two, but soon enough it picked up strength and now it's keeping up with my phone and other watches. Is this a good watch? Yes, as a gift for your loved ones or a little indulgence for yourself, worth every penny.EDIT: Contrary to what the internet says, this watch can be hacked. All it takes is pulling the crown all the way out (to adjust the hour and minutes) and then turn it slightly in the opposite direction (backwards on the dial). That stops the second hand long enough to make more accurate adjustments.

Very nice looking watch. Keeps perfect time. It's automatic so it will never need a battery replacement, and that's awesome!You do not need to be constantly moving to keep it working: it's on my nightstand 9 hr each night, and I work at a desk, I do nothing extra to keep it wound up.
