A saz. Nice instrument!
I've been interested in middle eastern music lately and came across turkish saz music on Youtube. I play guitar but this music requires instruments that can play quarter tones. The frets in the saz are spaced to accommodate those. I took the plunge and ordered this instrument, a long neck version. It took over a month to get here from Istanbul, mostly being delayed at NJ customs. Packaging was excellent.It's a well built instrument, all solid wood (no ply). Saz/baglamas are popular folk instruments and tend to be spartan, as this one is, in the sense that a basic Martin guitar is spartan. The neck is a single piece of hardwood for both neck and fingerboard, and there is no decorative ornamentation. The sound board is solid spruce. Overall it's quite nice looking, particularly the mahogany bowl. The build is professional and well finished. The wooden pegs work well and are easy to tune. Extra set of strings, two picks, and thin gig bag included.Salamusik also has good instructions on their site on how to tune - great responsive people as well.I'll be having fun learning how to play.Highly recommended.

Very good instrument for the value and a good company to do business with.
The company replaced this long neck baglama for me with a short neck baglama. It was my mistake that I ordered the wrong instrument, but they kindly allowed me to return it. The new short-neck baglama is just exactly what I wanted. It is a very good quality instrument for the money (as was the long-neck version). And I enjoyed doing business with Sala Muzik as they went out of their way to make sure I got what I wanted and in a timely fashion. I appreciate them very much.

A Beautiful Saz
Firstly, this Saz is beautiful....love the matte finish. Secondly....wow!!!....we ordered it on May 20th....and it was at our door on May 23rd....from Istanbul!! Order from Sala Music with confidence.

If you love saz music, you can learn to play it
Well made. Very beautiful. I always go to the Turkish festival. It is very popular because of the music. I know several stringed instruments and will learn to play the Saz.it will be a challenge

Very cheap material it's look like being used and I receive it totally damage.
