IrritrolRSCAP Cap/Disc/Spindle Assembly

Worked prefect. Prior to replacing I replaced the two batteries. It didn’t resolve the issue. When I pulled the cork assembly apart I found the old ones to be black and worn and they couldn’t absorb water. FYI, it is suggested to replace this unit every few years. Mine were probably 10 years old.

I wanted to replace the discs/waffers and the two CR2032 button batteries in my old Toro TWRS rain sensor. Researched like crazy. Bought a set of 16 discs. As others have observed, they tend to be thinner which means you would need more than 8 to match the height of the original 8 discs. I was willing to give that a try but the replacement discs also have a smaller diameter hole. I broke the original spindle pin trying to remove the original discs, cemented it back together and was about to attempt to somehow bore the new disc holes wider. Not worth the effort, so more research. The Toro site actually points to this Irritrol Assembly. Saw a couple comments on Amazon that claim the Irritrol Assembly will fit the Toro sensor. It does!

Product worked BUT the plastic was too big to fit into the holder. I used a nail file and also some WD40 to make it work

We were lucky to be able to find this exact replacement for the cork assembly needed for this Irritrol sensor. It was a little tricky to put the cap back on, but otherwise the unit now operates perfectly.

Revived my wireless rain sensor that would no longer correctly detect rain.

An inexpensive 5 minute fix that got my rain sensor working again.

This replacement took my rain sensor from Junk to like new. I didn't want to replace my rain sensor for almost $100, but this part fixed the old one.

Was able to get my rain sensor working again.
