BBQ function, set the lowest and highest temp!
As described.Easy to use, turn it on, set your probe to target temp.Has presets for preferred doneness for all 4 probes. What decided me to get this were, reasonable price, wired, has a monitoring unit, reliable because my old Thermo Pro is still working.I like the BBQ mode, kettle grill use, this function lets you set LOW and HIGH temp. Unit alarms when the temp is outside of that range. With that said, the 2 probes on my old TP also work on this new one and vice versa.Didn't break the bank as well.

Excellent Multi-probe Thermometer -- Only One Complaint
I have been using a couple of single-probe thermometers for many years. I always thought it would be nice to own a multi-probe unit, and even better to have one that didn't keep me "anchored" to the grill (or oven) to monitor the readings.I hopped on Amazon to look at the multi-probe thermometers. I first looked at the Bluetooth style, but found, in the reviews, that if you get out of range, the Bluetooth disconnects and can clear your readings. I also looked at some WIFI units, but I was hesitant to add another IoT device, especially wondering about the security practices of companies that are in the thermometer business. So I decided to go with an RF unit, and landed on the ThermoPro TP829. It has many nice features, including:-- 4 probes-- a small "base" unit that the probes attach to-- a larger handheld receiver/controller unit that you can carry with you to set the meat type or desired "done" temperature for each probe-- both the base unit and receiver/controller unit have fold out stands-- the system has a 1000 foot range-- nothing has to be installed on your WIFI-- there is no app to install on your phoneI used the system today to cook a large package of chiken thighs on the grill. It was very easy to set up, and it worked very well. The thighs came out just right and were tender and juicy. So that's all of the good stuff, now for my one complaint...The receiver/controller has magnets on the back; however, the base unit has NO magnets, which is inconvenient for the piece that is supposed to be out at the grill. I know that many gas grills have side shelves, so you can stand it up or lay it down on one of those, but there are other grills that do not have that. I don't quite understand why they went through the trouble to put magnets on the receiver/controller that you carry with you, but did not put any on the base unit that is at the grill. Perhaps it's because the cases are made of plastic and they are worried about you sticking it to the side of a hot grill, IDK. But the other single-probe thermometers I have DO have magnets on the back and parts of those cases are plastic. Anyway, for my use, I had some magnetic tape strips, so I cut some to size and now my base unit also has magnets on the back.Aside from that one complaint, I still give this system 5 stars, and I highly recommend it!

Great connectivity and functionality
Works as intended and very intuitive to use. Been using this in my smoker recently (both meat and smoker temp) and everything has been coming out perfectly cooked!Having the capability to send your own alarm thresholds is really nice and it fits in my pocket so if an alarm goes off while I’m doing other work around the property I know it.Good product, great functionality, and no having to apps!

Little device works slick
This is a really slick tool if you’re into cooking good food or especially if you’re into barbecue. The four probes are very handy either for doing multiple pieces of meat or how are used them to check either side of a brisket and to check the grate temperature side to side in the cooker. The range is excellent, it broadcast through a garage door, a garage wall and into the house without any issues whatsoever. Unlike the multiple wireless Bluetooth ones that I have if there’s anything in the way obstructing the path of the signal, it has a tendency to drop out.The instructions are a little confusing, which is typical for a device like this but once you figure out the button sequence, everything works smoothly. The photo is of a brisket that cooked for 24 1/2 hours. Easily nailed the temperature and the tenderness and now it’s sitting in a warming oven for 12 hours.

They work great but some some minor issues.
First off, they all read the correct temp. I checked them in a calibrated temperature chamber and all probes they were within 2 degrees at temp of 220 F.I read many reviews saying that the probes get hot. My solution was to buy silicone tubing and cover the probes handle before I even put them into the smoker.I got the tubing on Amazon (Clear Platinum Silicone Tubing - Food & Medical Grade - High Temp Hose (5 Feet, 1/4" ID x 3/8" OD Hardness: 50A). They get hot but better much cooler than the metal.Thier low pork setting is for things other than pork chops/roasts/tenderloit. You have to go to the program settings and set it to 245 degrees F. Once you get the hang of it (took me a few tries but I had time since I was smoking tenderloins) it gets easier.I love the ability to have 1 probe for smoker temp and the other three for meat temps or you can set them to however you want. I also like that when it is turned on, it comes up with the last settings you had it set to. I took out the batteries then replaced the and it still held the last setting. Don't know if that will work after a week or two with the batts out but that is a minor issue if it doesn't.I'm bummed that there is no case for them (another common grip in the reviews).I don't know about the battery life but I will be taking the batteries out after each use to insure they don't get corrosion all over the battery compartments. Since I use this outdoors, the humidity outside and from the smoker makes that even more important.I sent an email to ThermoPro and they got back to me quickley. Thumbs up for that!I saw similar ones for cheaper but I trust ThermoPro's reputation and I do not think taking a chance with cooking meat is worth it.Over all, I would recommend it.
