Stainless Steel Dog Nail Clipper, Plier Style

I have three large dogs and have struggled for 14 YEARS with crappy clippers, thinking that it was just their hard nails and my lack of finesse. I’m ashamed to say that it never occurred to me, after buying multiple pairs at different pet stores, that I just kept getting junk clippers.I purchased this red handled one for my dogs (a 45lb staffy mix, a 65lb Shepherd/Golden mix, and an 80lb Shepherd/Rottie mix) and am amazed at the ease of use. If you are clipping properly and taking little snips of confetti size pieces rather than big chunks of the nail, this size should suit just about most breeds IMO. The clipper handles are smaller than my old pairs so took some getting used to holding but they cut my dogs’ rock hard nails like butter! And best of all, they are utterly quiet and go almost completely unnoticed by my dogs (no crunching or cracking of the nails). I’ve used them a few times now and haven’t experienced the handle grips slipping as others have mentioned, but that’s an easy fix and wouldn’t impact my 5* review because I’m amazed at how well these work. I will never buy another brand of clippers again!

A Yellow Lab and a Rhodesian Ridgeback.The Ridgebck has thick, hard nails, that constantly dull other clippers and have even broken pairs.When buying a new set I did a lot of research, and decided on the Millers Forge.It arrived, and when I took it out of the package, I was immediately skeptical.They are very small, thin, and insubstantial, and nearly fit in the palm of my hand.The construction is high quality. Very tight fitting, machined, and polished stainless steel.The handles are dipped plastic, they are comfortable to grip, and cushion your hand effectively when squeezing.Spring is strong, provides a steady resistance, which allows good cutting control.It has a guard/guide to assist you in trimming the appropriate amount of nail off without getting the quick.The cutting edges are very sharp, and easily cut through the nail, and maintain their edge for a long time.It also has a safety device that keeps the clippers closed when not in use so the cutting edges are not exposed.The small size of these clippers is very handy, as some dogs are more co-operative with this process than others, and these can work well in almost any position.My only complaint is that the safety latch sometimes flips and locks the pliers shut while you are using them.I have not had to sharpen these once, and have used them on 2 dogs for over a year.Highly recommend this product, particularly to people who have dogs with strong nails.

The design makes it painful for the pet. When you squeeze the handle, the metal parts keep moving towards the paw and ending up hurting your dog's paws.
