Will this item fit a 49" TV?

My tv measures 49 x 29.5 x 3. the closest cover size is 48, which measures 48 x 30 x 5 (next one up is 52.5 x 33 x 4.5 and too big). will the 48 fit?

Yes, the TV cover will fit. The extra inch on the height and thickness should give allowance to the length.

My tv is 48.4 in x 30.6 in (including stand) with a 54.6 in diagonal and 2.5 in deep. Would the 48 or 52 in be a better fit?

Based on the measurements of your TV, the size that might best fit  is the  TV Cover 48". It measures  48 x 30 x 5  inches, with 56" diagonal. The extra inch on the deep should create allowance to cover it wholly.

The next size 52" 52.5 x 33 x 4.5 inches with 61" Diagonal, might be too large.
