Tried this hoping to avoid purchasing another set of pruners. It did the trick. Worked on trimmer as well

defective product
Completely fell apart the first time I tried to use it. Unfortunately, I am unable to figure out how to put it back together and it's too late to return it. Extremely disappointed. Even though it is designed and distributed in the USA, I see that it was made in China which may explain the problem.

Keeps them sharp as long as blade is not damaged!
If I only had one complaint, I wish it was a straight pull rather than a side pull. I find it hard to keep the tool aligned properly when pulling across the blade sideways. BUT, if you can and go slow... It keeps the blade nice and sharp.Keep in mind, if your blade is chipped or has a bend/bump in it, you may experience issues.

Keeps my wife from complaining.
A little awkward to use but I seem to get more adept each time I use it. It does sharpen the blades but don't expect an edge like your carving knife. It doesn't fit well between the blades of some smaller garden trimmers.

A great product which is simple and safe to use.
Bought these for my 80 year old mother who was tired of pruning with dull shears. With a little instruction from me (1000 miles away) she was able to use these to bring life back to her old shears... A great product which is simple and safe to use.

Worth buying
Worked like a charm! I had some very dull garden tools so I bought this item. My husband predicted it would be a waste of money but I'm quite happy with the results. I had a clipped that was too dull to cut grass and after sharpening it, its almost the same as when I first bought it
