So I used this on a rocket stove that I was also trying out, and it did a fine job making the entire pan hot to cook up some fish. To be fair, the pan had a fairly thick bottom, but with the small intense heat area of the rocket stove I think there would have been a significant hot spot in the centre without the diffuser. It was good and flat too-- it made consistent contact all around the bottom of the pan, which is milled flat. I'm going to try it again tonight with a much larger pan and see how that goes.UPDATE: Tried it with a more demanding load: 13" thick bottomed frying pan frying up potatoes. Got it good and hot and it didn't warp or cause any issues. Transmitted the heat just fine. Probably the last thing to try is with the camping cookset; see if I don't need quite the flame level with those thin pans.

I use a gas hob and recently acquired a ceramic tagine. The diffuser really works well. Cooking is fast and controlled. Very safe way to use ceramic cookware.

Bought with high hopes and promises of no warping. Warped pretty quickly and is now quite bowl shaped. Returned for a refund

Read the reviews of the cheap ones. If you care how yours will look after a few uses then but this one. It's quality.

Despite the title of the listing, it doesn't work on our induction cooker. Very annoying. Also, the instructions are not in English (not that I imagine there's much to the instructions, but it seems poor, especially when the titles for the sub parts of the instructions are in English! I can't fathom why).
