Excellent security for deadbolts
I recently installed three Yale Assure Lock SL - Key Free Smart Lock with Touchscreen Keypad on my doors and wanted to make sure the deadbolt was secure. I found these door reinforcements here on Amazon and after reading the installation bought three of them.Installation was easy. They supply a template (cutting the template out was the hardest part). They have a video you can watch that shows how to do the installation, very nicely done. I did all three of my doors in about 1 hour. What I liked about these were not only the security of the two massive pins that secure the housing through the door stud, but it was larger face plate. This allowed me to clean-up the door cut-out for the faceplate from previous installations. This resulted in a clean, new look for the door. This door reinforcement is massive. You would have to knock down the stud and/or break the door at the deadbolt to get into the house. Since I am using the Yale Assure Lock with no key, someone cannot "bump" the lock to gain entry. This combination is a very solid security feature.

Just the best!
Being a security specialist for the last 40 years, I can tell you that I have recommended and installed these on both residential and commercial properties. They are easy to install with a long 3/8" drill bit. Remember the door is now the weakest point, not the door jam.

Added security
We had our builder install 3 of these door reinforcements into the door frames of all exterior doors. They go into the studs & give much better protection if someone tries to kick in the door.

Be aware before you install
Well, I bought this but should have thought this through a bit better. This device is only for new installations. I say this because of the tolerance needed when drilling 2 x 1/2" holes which is difficult in an existing installations where you may have prior screw holes, etc. Anything other than fresh wood makes it challenging to drill the holes. Drilling is easy, it is the need for accurate alignment. As I say, this device is best for a clean or new installation. I made it work but the process was not pristine.
