Did this per instructions, connected wires correctly, used fresh batteries. Turned on motor and nothing happened. Why?

Not sure. I would try connecting just the motor to the battery by itself, see if it turns.. if no, the motor or battery are the problem, if yes the apparatus is the problem, and go from there.

Where can I get instructions for installing the motor ?
