I'm a terrarium hobbyist and plant lover. While I've had houseplants for some time, I only started mixing up my own substrate when I got into sealed terrariums, about a year ago. In that time, I tried a variety of different combinations of materials in order to create a substrate with good aeration and moisture retention, but it seemed like something was always off. My plants did well at first, but as time went on, they started to look and behave as though something was missing.The thing about organic matter is that it takes a little while to naturally decompose, when it's not being helped along by beneficial bacterias or other creatures. In the case of houseplant substrate, nutrients found in coir, sphagnum moss, orchid bark, etc. aren't necessarily feeding the plants until those products break down further.That's where this product comes into play. I learned about the use of earthworm castings from another terrarium enthusiast (thanks Ben!), and decided to give it a try. Because earthworms have already done a lot of the decomposition work, nutrients from their waste become more available faster for my green friends.I have limited storage space, so I didn't want to buy a huge bag of castings, which is all I found in my local garden centers. This product has an easy-to-store footprint and a fabulous resealable bag. The castings appear lush and rich, and there's very little foreign particulate in it that the eye can see. As of yet, I've seen no bugs or had any problems with things crawling out of the bag or hatching out of my potting soil. There's no smell- at most, you might smell a sort of faint earthy smell, but that's all.The plants that have had these castings mixed into their substrate, in both high and average humidity environments, are showing visible positive improvement, even this early on. I'm extremely impressed with this product, and will absolutely be buying again when I run out.

This product if mixed with other organic soils or compost really lifts your vegetables life. I tried it as a mix and my veggies are producing larger and plenty peppers, beans and cabbage. Great product.

One of the best products you can buy for your plants. I now mix it into all my potting soil it really helps.
