I watched "I, Claudius" when it was first aired back in the day; it was very interesting then, and it is even more interesting now. Back then, I was still too young to appreciate this Roman history that I knew virtually nothing about, and there were a lot of political intrigues that I simply did not understand at the time. But nonetheless I was still very absorbed in the production as I enjoyed any kind of history and still do.These days, I do know a little Roman history, and so I enjoyed it hugely this time around. It is a little slow moving at times in comparison to today's frenetic pace, but extremely watchable nonetheless. The script, acting, and direction are terrific, and it is such fun to watch the very young John Hurt, Derek Jacobi, Sian Phillips, and so many other familiar British performers do what they do superbly; act. They make a history lesson so easy to enjoy.Highly Recommend.
