I am satisfied with my Cooler Kitchen Mortar and Pestle. The Mortar and Pestle was as advertised, and was consistent with the reviews I read prior to purchase. It is the right size for my needs. The rough sides on the inside aid greatly in grinding things and kind of holds things so you can grind. It has some weight which is good for its intended purpose since you will be exerting some force while grinding, and the weight keeps it in place, but it's weight does not affect it's ease of use. The non slip coverings made the pestle easy to hold, and stopped the Mortar from moving during use. It is easy to use and easy to clean. It has solid, simple, no nonsense, clean lines to do what it was meant to do, but I think it also looks great! Just a well thought out, well designed, and well made product (obviously from people who cook). I would recommend it to others. A welcome addition to my kitchen that will be used!

This is perfect. I mostly use it to grind freeze-dried dog food prior to adding water. It’s so much better than my granite one. (Which is currently packed who knows where.) Pros: 1. Nice, heavy mortar , with glossy outside. The silicone keeps it from sliding around so I don’t have to put a lot of pressure to hold it in place. 2. The mortar has two finishes inside. The glossy top half and the more porous finish in the lower bowl itself. That holds whatever is being ground so it’s not slipping around. 3. The pestle has the same slightly porous exterior on the rounded end. That gives enough friction when grinding to keep the food from slipping out. And to grind the pellets into a smoother consistency. 4. The pestle has silicone on the handle part. Gives a nice comfortable grip. Cons: None so far.

It is pretty sturdy (nice and heavy) pulverizes pretty well, the pestle however isn’t 100% rounded so I have to change hands while grinding

I chose the ceramic with unglazed grinding surfaces to effectively smash and mix things without trailing color or smell; this item did not disappoint. However, the features is this particular mortar and pestle of that sort really saved the day. I have always wanted one of these, but had never taken the plunge. This one caught my eye because it's weighted and non-slip, just seemed like a good idea. White making s chili paste with garlic cloves and various spices, my enthusiasm outpaced my skill with this new tool. Only the weighted button and the non-slip silicone footprint saved me from losing control if both pieces and their contents. I doubt I would have had both mortar and pestle survive the flying smash my inexperience would have created. The silicone assists with grip on both pieces, and the effectiveness for grinding and smashing and mixing ingredients is as expected for this type of tool. Also, the item is well constructed and blissfully easy to clean without any residual color or smell--it looks brand new after the first use. I feel like it's a good visit for the money given the overall design and function--especially if you're not familiar with using one of these. I'm someone who likes to get something completely clean so this fits the bill. I'm also not keen on seasoning a tool that's not exposed to heat so the unglazed ceramic properties are perfect for my needs. [That said, I still can't determine where it was made between the box, insert, and markings absent from the item.]

Perfect for my needs. Just the right size and priced right. Not cheep at all and seems durable. Not heavy like others and looks great in my kitchen.

I adore this mortar and pestle set. Everything about it screams quality. I accidentally dropped and broke my first one after 2 years of heavy use. One improvement in the newer one is a more roughed-up surface in the bowl, which makes it easier to thoroughly crush everything from herbs and peppercorns to my cats' allergy medication. It's also got a removable rubber anti-skid ring for the bottom and a non-slip coating on the pestle for a good grip. Don't even consider any others!!! Highly, highly recommend.
