very solid construction; works great; outstanding customer service
I purchased this Spring Chef dough blender to replace an old hoop one for one specific purpose: making biscuits from scratch. Trying to blend partially frozen cubes of butter with flour using my old hoop dough blender was an experience in frustration as the metal loops would separate. Not so with this Spring Chef blender. The thing is built like a tank with a very solid feel to it. The blades of the blender are not sharp, but they are designed such that they easily cut into frozen butter and blend well without bending a bit. The handle has a cushioned feel to it, which is also a big improvement over my old tool that had a wooden handle. My only complaint is the handle on this blender is a little small for my adult male hand. It would have been perfect if the handle was about a half inch longer. Even still, it is a marked improvement over my old dough blender, and I highly recommend it. Spring Chef does sell a larger model, which I did not know when I purchased this medium size one, so if you have large hands you may want to look at their larger model which is available on the Spring Chef web site if Amazon doesn't have it.Now a word about customer service. After I purchased my dough blender I got an email from one of the co-founders at Spring Chef asking how I liked it. I wrote back pretty much what I said in my initial review above. I did not ask for anything and simply offered my opinion about the product. He immediately sent me an email back stating he would send me the larger blender, which he did. He wanted to make sure I was 100% satisfied with my purchase. Now you just cannot beat that level of customer service, and that is precisely why I ended up buying a new Spring Chef box grater shortly afterward and will check Spring Chef before I buy any other items for cooking. So here is the comparison of the two dough blenders. Dimensionally, the medium dough blender measures approximately 4-1/2 inches from the back of the handle to the furthest tip of the blade; the large dough blender measures 5-1/4 inches in the same dimension. The length of the handle on the medium blender measures approximately 3-1/8 inches in length across the outside (3 inches in length inside the handle); the larger blender handle measures 4-3/4 inches across the outside (4-3/8 inches inside the handle). So the larger blender not only has a larger handle, which makes for a far more comfortable grip in my situation, but it also is larger in blade size, too. I have posted pictures to compare the two side by side (that’s not rust on the blades, it is reflection of our pot rack from above). In summary, both the medium and large Spring Chef dough blenders are built very solidly and work extremely well. If you have smaller hands, or need to blend dough in a small bowl, the medium sized blender may work well for you. But I suspect most people will find the large dough blender to be more comfortable to use, especially if you have large hands. Regardless of which one you buy, you can rest assured Spring Chef stands behind the quality of their products and wants you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase.

Fantastic Kitchen Tool
I purchased the Dough Blender from the Spring Chef Store, and I must say, it has quickly become one of my favorite kitchen tools. From mixing dough for pies to blending butter into flour for biscuits, this tool excels in every task. The ergonomic design fits comfortably in my hand, allowing me to effortlessly blend ingredients without straining my wrist. The stainless steel blades are sturdy and efficient, cutting through even the toughest dough with ease. What I love most about this dough blender is its versatility. It's not just for dough – I've used it to mash avocados for guacamole and even to mix ingredients for homemade pasta. Its multi-functionality makes it a must-have in any kitchen.Cleanup is a breeze too; the dough doesn't stick to the blades, and it's dishwasher safe for added convenience.Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The Spring Chef Dough Blender has exceeded my expectations and has become an essential tool in my kitchen arsenal. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient way to mix dough and more.

Perfect for Christmas cookies!
This morning I used great pastry “blender” for mixing flour, butter and sugar together to make shortbread cookies. It worked well! It feels sturdy and took the pressure of mixing and cutting very well. Great value!

Not too large, sturdy construction, comfortable grip.
I’ve used a wire designed pastry cutter since I first began baking. That is the type of cutter my mother used, as did her mother and so on and so forth. As I’ve aged, it has become much harder for me to properly incorporate my shortening into the flour mixture without feeling some pain in my joints. This product allows me to perform the task in a much faster, comfortable and less stressful manner on my hands and wrists. I still prefer using this method to pulling out a food processor.

It is smaller than I expected, but work just fine.
The pastry blender is high-quality. It’s smaller than I expected but actually worked out better since I’m keeping it in an RV.. When I first opened it, I thought I would return it because of the size. I then used it to make a piecrust, and it worked beautifully. No problems at all.

Cuts butter into flower with ease!
I didn’t think I would really need one of these since it’s pretty much a uni-tasker and wouldn’t use it as often. However, I went a few separate times with cutting in butter into flower with a fork. Although that worked, it was kind of a pain. So I bought one of these and it was so much easier and faster than with 2 forks. Great quality, easy to clean, easy to use. Worth purchasing even if I only use it minimally.

Impossible to control
I was so disappointed with this pastry cutter. It was recommended as a best buy on another site but the plastic handle pivots around so it’s impossible to control the cutter when you push down. It’s a shame because the cutter itself looked really good solid quality. Returned it for a refund.

Really strong
This is a great little tool. I could see a large hand hating using this though. When so many cutters squish with use, this one is sturdy and effective.
