America Acoustech PL-66 Surround Speakers (Pair)

Using these as front hight. Just awesome

I purchased these for around the price these sell on Amazon.com they sound and look amazing I mean these are basically Klipsch clones. I mean that in the nicest way possible and that does not mean they are as good as Klipsch's more premium line of speakers. These sound fantastic they are loud and horn driven, however currently the set is selling for over 700 here on Amazon and BIC has set a MSRP of 299.99 per speaker that does not mean Amazon.ca should be selling these for double of what the Americans pay, this is just highway robbery. While they do sound good at this price point of my purchase of these just go Klipsch they have been around a lot longer and are more well known throughout the world, anyone that knows audio products have probably heard of them. Why should I not buy these for full MSRP is because you can get for around a hundred dollars more on Amazon.ca is the Klipsch RP-402S Reference Premiere Surround Speakers. Just get those and you will be happy I own a pair of Klipsch towers and boy do they rock the house. BIC is more for saving money they do still make great speakers but my opinion is go Klipsch.

Like the sound and build quality. Sound quality is excellent I have always been a fan of horn tweeters and this doesn't disappoint. You cant go wrong with these surround speakers.

Impressive add on surround speakers I added these for side wall surround in the middle of the room and they sound "big",sharp and can handle burst sounds very well. I have it connected to Nad T777 and they sound as good as my other klipsch speakers. To add two surround speakers from klipsch was too much a unreasonable premium so I had to look for alternatives. I'm glad I did.. You probably will be too. The only con is thier technical customer service sucks. I had asked for some more technical specifications not on the Web and they never bothered to email me or send me what I asked for after two attempts. The big specs are posted.. Not the interesting ones.

Picked up two pairs of these for my surround and surround back speakers in a 7.2 system. They mounted on the walls easily thanks to the built in mounts. They sound great and have perfect range for surround speakers. I knocked these down a notch because one of the four speakers I purchased had a non-functional tweeter after hooking them up. I took the speaker apart and the crossover had an inductor shorted out with a capacitor. After corecting this issue, the tweeter worked and everything sounded great. I only bring this up because if I weren't an electronic savvy user, I would have had to go through the process of returning these for a replacement.

Wow, well let me start by saying that prior to this June I had never even heard of this company. My infinity powered sub started to go bad then finally quit and this led me to the bic f12 ( which I have reviewed) . I was scanning here on amazon and saw these surrounds and I was intrigued. I read several reviews here and at several audiophile websites and overall these surrounds were rated quite high. So with the price I decided to take the plunge and replace my infinity bookcase surrounds. First I will say that I love the look of these speakers with the mirror black finish. They look great mounted on my wall ( which was a piece of cake using the included mounting brackets (used wall anchors from a box store to mount them). Install took apps 10 minutes for me Once installed I switched on my amp and put in a blu ray of saving private ryan and I will say that immediately I noticed a greater surround field which I believe was a direct result of the horns being placed toward the listening zone. Also I noticed a tremendous improvement in the bass response from my surrounds as well. I mean even my wife who could care less about surround sound even said she thought they sounded much better than the old ones and that she could really hear the surround!! I am going to spend some time next week experimenting with crossover settings on my onkyo amp. I currently have the surrounds at 120hz crossover With the solid bass response of these I might try a bit lower crossover and see how it sounds. I am awaiting the larger center speaker with the horn and I can't wait to see how it matches up. I have always been a bit disappointed with my current center which is the largest infinity but it has always sounded muddy to me and I have spent countless hours tweaking it. If you are in the market for and upgrade to your basic bookshelf surrounds then you should check these out.
