Great training tool
My Jack Russell has already figured it out in less than 2 weeks. My Weenie Dog however... is stubborn as a mule and still needs reminding.Only down side... the constant blinking light to let you know they are charged... I really think makes the battery run down a lot faster. Just wish the collar would stay charged as long as the controller... the collars I am charging at least every 3 days... remote... I have not had to charge yet and it's been about 2 months at least.

Has it's positives and negatives
SO, I'm not sure how I feel about these collars yet. They do some things well, some things terribly, and some things inbetween. The Good:- 3 modes. You can make an audible alert, vibration, or shock. (more on that in The Bad)- Everything is handled on 1 remote, so you only have to keep track of one (more on THAT in The Bad)- Collars are adjustable, and color coded so you can differentiate between 1 and 2- They are RELATIVELY small. They are JUST a bit on the big size for my small dogs. On a medium, or large dog, these wouldn't be too bulky at all.The Bad:- The charger is absolutely terrible. It's ALMOST great, in that you can charge one collar, AND the remote at the same time, but why the heck can't you charge both collars?! You have to charge the collars at separate times, which just makes ZERO sense. Terrible design.- No clear instructions. There's no light that tells you when the collars are fully charged, and I THINK, the only indicator to tell you that it is on, is a blinking light. I say "I think," because Sometimes there is no light, yet they still work. Sometimes they turn themselves off, sometimes they stay on. You can long press the power button, and it beeps and does....SOMETHING, other times its just a single press. I can't remember if it came with an instruction booklet, but I can't find any help online, nor can I directly contact the seller.- The only mode really worth a damn is vibration. All three work, but vibration is probably the only one you'll use, unless you're a sadist or actually want to affect change in your dogs behavior. First, the "noise" mode is just a little 5-beep alert that can't be raised or lowered. If your dog is barking it's fool head off, it's very unlikely to hear, or in my dogs case, CARE, about that little ineffectual beep. The "shock" mode, MORE than makes up for the sound modes ineffectiveness. Listen, I love my dogs. I don't WANT to shock them, but I understand that if some extreme cases, a little more than vibration may be called for. BUT, I don't do anything to my dogs that I don't test on myself first. My shock was set to "40" as I held it in my hand. I hit the button and involuntarily threw the collar across the room! Holy crap! This thing goes up to 100, and I, a grown man, couldn't take it at 40. I turn it down to NINE, and try again. It hurt almost as bad. At this point, I turn it down to 1.....thats ONE, and hit the button. Basically nothing. Ok, cool, BUT, you know what, they wear it on their neck, let me put it on MY neck and test that first. I put it to my neck (my wife walks in the room), I hit the button, and SCREAM! I drop the collar and start jumping around the room. My wife asks what the heck is my problem?! Listen, I am 200 pounds. My dog is 17 pounds. It should be a crime to put this on your dog and use it. It is inhumane. There is NO way I would EVER use the shock capability of this collar on anything less than an attacking pitbull or something. My JRR would be fried. I literally can't believe how powerful the shock mode on this collar is.- While the remote is cool that it handles both, it is still a little clunky in it's execution. You have to toggle back and forth between the two collars before hitting the button to deliver whatever correction you want. There have been multiple times where I grabbed the collar, issued a correction before noticing it was set to the wrong collar (which happens more than you would think, as I have one dog who is more of a problem than the other one, and therefore almost ALWAYS has a collar on, but since they have to have staggered charging because of the stupid charger, I switch collars while the other one charges). Other times, both will need a correction, and you have to push the button, then push the switch button, then the correction button, etc, etc. I wish there was a collar 1 correction button, and collar 2 correction button, and all the modes and setup buttons could be shared. All in all, a decent solution to the problem of unruly dogs, if you can figure how to get everything to work and continue working.

Had them for 4 years and still work perfectly fine!
I bought these collars over 4 years ago for my Chiweenie terrier mix. We live in the country so she likes to chase after all the wildlife, including skunks!! I hardly ever let her out unattended, so these collars were perfect (especially when we travel). If I call her and she doesn’t come, I give her a warning beep, then I move to the vibration setting and she comes right away. She weighs about 13 pounds so the shock setting is set to 2. I’ve only had to use it a few times when she chases after other animals, but that happens less and less over time. These are definitely worth the money, and have been a life saver for the past 4 years. Would purchase again if ever needed.

Great Training Tool If you Use in on the Right Dog
We have used the collars only one time and that seems to have been enough. We have two 6-7 lb 5 and 6 year old female Chihuahua-Yorkies (same parents, by the way) who have a habit of running out in full voice to great larger dogs who are walking near our home. When they greet the other dog, they roll over in submission or, more often, fight each other to see who gets to greet the new dog first. Their enthusiasm and sisterly battle over who is first usually scares the owner of th e larger dog(s). They usually stop with our yells to stop before they reach the street but recently their enthusiastic charge has taken them out into our street in pursuit of an old friend or potential playmate. So I purchased the xRuby Shock Collar. I set up the collar and the remote so that each dog had their own channel and tested each collar on vibrate, sound and shock before putting them on our babies. The vibrate seemed to work pretty well but was easily ignored by the excitement of an approaching black lab. I switched the controller to shock and Dora jumped and stopped at the edge of a neighbor's yard. Izzy, the furry one in the picture, kept going across the street. I thought I switched the controller to Izzy's collar, but Dora yelped three more times before I finally got the controller switched to Izzy and off vibrate to shock. But by then Izzy got the message to stop thanks to the vibrations and returned home. Needless to say, I had a lot of apologizing to do to Dora. But ever since, all we have to do is yell, "DORA, STOP!" and both she and Izzy stop immediately. We have not had to use the collars since then and I even have to give them permission to leave the porch to greet an old friend. I, needless to say, keep their collars charged and ready should they need a refresher course. The 4 star rating is because. the controller is difficult to switch between collars. It took three tries to get the controller switched from Dora's to Izzy's receiver when I needed it most. I still have difficulty getting them switched. It is also too easy to think you have selected sound or vibrate when you really have selected shock or nothing. A switch with clear lights or sounds when different modes are chosen would help, but otherwise they are a great learning tool for not so young dogs.

Trains dogs fast!
I was surprised as to how fast our dogs were trained using these! Especially given the age of our dogs, 10 & 5 years old! We usually only need to beep them once. Occasionally, we may need to use the vibration. We never need to use the shock. I like that we have the ability to set the intensity of each as well. Great product!

A life saver in case my dog has a stupid attack.
We have 30 acres and 2 registered shelties. They are so fast that before I can react to something that might catch their attention, it's too late to grab them. Typically I only use the vibrate mode but once in a while, they don't mind me and we have a training session. I ordered a set for my neighbor who broke his leg walking his dog on a leash and he says he now owns the perfect dog.
