Droll YankeesOnyx Clever Clean and Fill Nyjer Seed Bird Feeder, 12 Inches, 2 Ports, Black

Needed to replace old thistle feeder which also served sunflower bits to finches and other birds, so I needed a seed tray as well as ports for Nyger thistle. This feeder was the best match and will probably last for many years. Product was exactly as described.

Has ideal stations for small birds, especially goldfinches and chickadees, nuthatches and downy woodpeckers. Instead of just horizontal posts, has curved metal rings for a comfortable perch. Cardinals even try it, though it's a tight fit.

Like the other reviewer said, this Nyjer feeder is a little small (you can get a larger one). But in comparison to two other tubular Nyjer feeders we've had, the seed stays much drier through rains, so we don't get caked, moldy seed in the bottom. The mechanism for the removable base is perfect - no need to try long brushes, cooking utensils or shishkebob skewers to clean crud out!

We are fans of Droll Yankee feeders - good quality. Unfortunately, this feeder has only 2 feeding ports; twice, the product description on amazon states that there are 3 ports (4 would be preferred). Sent it back and purchased a similar feeder from Birds Unlimited with 4 ports.

Frustrates the squirrels and bigger birds. The finches and chickadees love it!

Good looking and less shaking with eight ports. Has two perch bars.
