So far I'm liking it
So far I'm liking it. Seems solidly built, all functions work as advertised. AM/FM reception is good enough to pick up any of the local stations I'd want to listen to in an emergency. I don't know if the emergency weather alert goes off when it gets the signal from NOAA, I haven't tested it yet. I think NOAA does a weekly test emergency activation so I'll find out then. The shortwave (SW) band reception isn't great but I wouldn't expect it to be with only a 18" whip antenna. What you can pick up varies greatly depending on the time of day and year. It does a fine job of picking up WWV at 10 MHz plus a handful of foreign language stations. One little niggle about the SW band, it covers a VERY wide range of frequencies which is good. But there is no way to key in the specific numeric frequency you want to listen to. The only way is to manually scroll through the frequencies. If you want to go from 3 MHz to 28 MHz you'll be pressing the up arrow key for a LONG time. The SOS alarm is pretty wimpy. It's really not loud enough to be of much use but it does a fine job of annoying the dog.

Great radio and backup power supply!
For the price, this product proves to be a great compact emergency radio costing half as much as the bigger name brand radios. The 5,000mah battery is great for charging a cell phone. Both LED lights are great during an emergency. The only thing I would mention is not to charge the radio while it is playing. I had to contact customer service and my issue was quickly resolved in a friendly manner. I would definitely recommend the purchase at this price point!

Not a 100% item.
Bought this emergency radio in July 2024 in preparation for SoCal's ever more frequent and consequential disasters -- floods, high winds, earthquakes, wildfires (even a tornado up the road from me a few years ago for heavens' sakes!)It came very quickly and was well packaged. Checked it out -- the radio worked OK, even the classical station did not sound objectionable; the flashlight was very bright, as was the reading light; the solar charger took a full day to charge up in bright summer sunshine; the emergency siren was loud enough to be heard across the street; the hand-crank brought the radio to play after only a few turns; my dead i-phone charged up as advertised. I was heartened.Well, it's six months later, and wildfires are raging in LA County. I run to check up on the emergency radio, which I keep constantly charging at the electric outlet. In picking it up, I accidently must have touched the flashlight on-button. I cannot turn it off, and it has been on these last six hours. And now what . . . ?!!!!!!!

Should have bought this sooner
I've had this in my car for a couple of years I finally bought it because it was on sale well worth the money we lost power recently I could charge my cell phone AM FM radio also has a crank arm and solar power panel very durable lightweight that all the stations that I needed I feel much better knowing that I have this in case we ever lose power again

Survived outside in a severe thunderstorm
I had placed this on my deck a few days ago in the sun to charge up the battery. I forgot to bring it in. Last night we had a severe thunderstorm with rains heavy enough the streets were flooded with 2-3 inches of water. After the storm I realized the radio had been sitting out fully exposed to the storm. It still works after letting it sit inside overnight.I have the analog dial version, so tuning is cumbersome but the station quality is comparable to other radios. Audio is decent for this type of radio, Not great but it works well enough. I wish it had a better solar panel for faster charging, and a larger LiIon battery. The included battery is marked as 21700E - 5000 mAh, 18.5 Wh, 3.7 V. Not bad, but I'm now seeing these radios with >10000 mAh batteries. Hand cranking works but is a lot of work for minimal power production. It is nice the LiIon battery is easily replaceable.Interestingly I just took the LiIon battery out, no AAA batteries installed, and in the sunlight the flashlight still worked just on solar power. Not sure how useful that is though! The radio and SOS alert did not work. I put the battery in my charger (Nitecore UMS4) and it indicates the battery is still in "Good" condition, however I was disappointed it only had ~1900mA of charge after sitting outside in sunny conditions for 3-4 days. I'll fully charge it on my charger and see what is the max charge it takes. As I said earlier, the 21700 battery is easily replaceable. According to Amazon I purchased this radio 3.5 years ago in Feb 2021.

Perfect for the road
I dropped my old weather radio and broke it, but now I'm glad I did. We need a weather radio when we're traveling cross country in our tiny Rv. The old radio was hard to tune into local weather stations on the move. It was great for the house as it stayed tuned in to our local NOAA station, but it was not great for the road. This radio is compact and super easy to use. It's quick to find the local weather stations. It also has all sorts of extra emergency gizmos. I like that there are so many ways to charge it - hand crank, batteries, plug it in, or solar. Also great is that other devices can be charged, there is a flashlight and a reading light and an emergency siren. As I just received it, I don't know how it will stand up to actual use on the road, but my first impression is positive. It has everything needed in an emergency. I will update later if issues arise.

Great for when there is no power
This is our 2nd one we bought. We keep one in our camper and now one for home. Worked very well when we lost power in a storm. Plus charging our phone even though it took a little longee
