For a hand ax, this is solid in every aspect. I use it to cut limbs off from trees I have cut down. It is well-balanced, and the handle is far more solid than the "commercial" hand axes. Well worth the price and it looks cool. I have received a number of favorable comments from friends who have tried it out in cleaning trees. It is easy to sharpen as well. As for pounding in stakes for spliting logs, it is quite handy.

My son is obsessed with vikings. I bought this as a birthday present. I am very impressed with how lovely, sturdy, and detailed it is. I can't speak for it's use as a tool because this will be used only for display purposes....but what a display!! It will look great with the rest of his collection. I can't wait to see his face when he opens it!

The quality and workmanship of this axe is excellent, beautiful axe head, and the handle is robust, I would concider this item as more of a weapon than a chopping tool. Although the axe was well worth the price I paid, the sheath is less than quality, rather thin and floppy on your belt. The sheath should hold the weapon securely to your side with minimal movement.

Long Handle for my liking ,but im gonna sand and shape to my style. Axe is sturdy feeling out of box and is very sharp. Sheath is real leather not fake like my other viking axe I have. Price is very reasonable ro this Axe. I am totally happy with purchase feels solid.

It’s a beautiful Axe, and a real piece of craftsmanship! ! I hate to use it because I don’t want to mess it up! I think Im just going to hang it!

I had high hopes for this axe and sadly it didn’t meet them. First let me say the head of the axe is beautiful (though no edge), the sheath is sturdy and well made, and the staining of the handle is well done. Also it arrived quickly and packed well. Now the disappointments the handle is a square block of wood. If i had Thor’s hand maybe it would wield better but my average mortal one can barely grip it. Since this is a short axe or hand axe i should only need one hand to hold it. It will take not just sanding to shape it but i may have to actually carve into the handle just for a grip. The handle is so ugly in shape i wont display it. It looks nothing like picture. The other problem i have is the edge of the blade. Dull as all hell though beautiful and thats the issue. The designs r so close to the edge that i fear if i put a sharp edge onto it that i will mess up the artistry of this axe. So i have a lot of work to do before i would put this on my wall or my belt. I guess the average price gives u slightly average product. Stay strong in the shield wall my friends.

Whe I received two of these products there was no edge whatsoever on the blade. The handle does not fill the void in the head. There was already rust on the head.Very unsatisfactory
