Sawyer Products SP713 Premium Maxi DEET, 100% DEET Insect Repellent, Pump Spray, 3-Ounce

I don't really leave reviews, but I HAD to for this amazing deet spray! I got it because of reviews stating they traveled to different countries and it worked well. Well...IT DID. I went on vacation to Tulum, Mexico and because the city is in the jungle, there are mosquitoes literally everywhere! We walked to most of our destinations and I would spray 4 sprits on each limb, 2 on one side and 2 on the back side and then I'd rub it on like lotion. That is the trick. Do not spray and leave it there or else it will just be like an untouched oily spot. It does have an odd oily consistency when sprayed on, so I suggest to spray all areas first and then rub them in or else you have to try to hold the bottle with oily hands and that makes it hard to continue spraying. But oh my gosh, let me tell you that I get extremely bad reactions to bug bites. They puff up to x4 if not more than its original size and hurt so bad that it feels raw even when the wind blows on it. The mosquitoes didn't dare to land on me and landed on my friends instead, lol. They didn't even want to walk near me because I'm a mosquito magnet and they'd ricochet onto them once they realized my tasty skin isn't actually so tasty with deet spray, haha! I had sprayed this on for a walk and it worked great, but I had to rinse myself off due to preserving cenotes, and that literally was when I started getting bit! Because I had to wash it off! This is a life saver! I'd be completely covered in bites and miserable if it weren't for this spray. It does leave a nasty taste on your hands if you're the nail biter or licking your fingers while eating type, so I'd wash your hands after applying. I also sprayed some on my hand to rub it on my back I stead of spraying it directly because it's harder to spray yourself with the possibility of missing, and also I accidentally inhaled it when spraying my neck and chest--so spraying it on your hand and rubbing on the desired area also works. I'm buying more of this in the double 4oz size pack to keep at home since there's also plenty of mosquitoes where I live in the states. Whoever made this product, THANK YOU. I can't stress out how amazing this really worked! I am one ecstatic customer!No regrets : D

Mosquitos love me and I hate them. This product actually works fairly well in repelling mosquitos, even for me. Nothing is perfect, but this is quite good compared to others.

I liked the double-bottle set for a travel to Mexico. I was able to bring it as a carry-on and share the second bottle with family. It is a very strong product, with a strong smell and mostly effective. However, a few bites got me anyways, which I was trying to avoid due to pregnancy. So, not a 100% bite protection, but what product offers that? I also had to scrub it off at night in the shower because I was grossed out to sleep with it on my skin. Also, when I sprayed my feet with it, the coloring came off of my flip flops and stained me. I would probably buy this product again, unless someone recommended something more effective and less toxic.

We were knee deep in muck and mud hunting duck opener and were absolutely SWARMED with mosquitoes and this stuff kept them away. I think I had 2 bites through my denim+baselayer+thermals. Those bugs earned their keep. No bites on the face/neck/hands where they usually assault due to the spray. This stuff is definitely more hardcore than most of the junk you can buy at the big box stores. If you're in thick, nasty, bug-infested areas, this is my go-to as a west coast guy. I don't live around ticks and chiggers or lime disease.This stuff had leaked through in shipping enough to wipe out the label and melt the packaging in the box, but not enough to make a fuss. I put the bottle in a pelican go case so it wouldn't leak more but the mess it made bleed in to the case. Still gets 5 stars because I bought the fluid, not the bottle and the fluid keeps the bugs away.Caveat: It'll melt plastics so be careful and wary around glasses, hearing protection, clothing, gloves, glasses, etc. you might be wearing.
