actually quiet. good flow. wish it had mini attachment for media. i have this filter in a 5.5 gallon. does dirty quick but its small so it makes sense

The media could not be loaded. The small sponge filter is working well so far in my 3 gallon tank for my betta fish. It is connected to my hygger 1.5 watts mini air pump which provides a tolerable flow of bubbles. It is easy to assemble with the tubing that came with my pump but I do recommended getting a check valve to prevent possible back flow. Now I can have double filtration to keep my tank cleaner & help beneficial bacteria stay to keep my tank cycled. Great price too!7/11/24 update: the sponge filters started producing tiny small bubbles that are getting trapped at the surface. I can see a tiny leak inside of the sponge filter but otherwise not sure if this is good or bad for the tank. See last pic compared to original video.

I am using this as an additional filter in my tank to increase water movement. Had a tiny air leak but seems to have solved itself. Great for an additional filter. Not enough surface area to make a good main filter.

Perfect for my little hospital/grow-out tank!My only gripe is that since it is so small it is worthwhile to block about 80% of the flow from the outlet pipe to create extra vacuum coming from the large filter. I noticed a lot of vacuum in the lower half of the upper tube.I used a little superglue and a piece of foam (cut to size) to block the flow and the bubbles are a little bit smaller. This results in a huge increase of suction as the water is forced to be pulled through the lower filter even more.I will definitely buy one of these again. It is so easy to hide and works perfectly for my needs!
