I was dubious of the 'star' design of this reel at first, but actually found it very effective. I've had plenty of strimmers / weed-whackers over the years and all have used a simpler circular reel cutting line. I wondered if it was really worth paying a little extra for the Oregon's 'star' style design of line, but I found it very effective for my strimmer. The only thing I would suggest if you have a rechargeable battery model, is be sure you get the _exact_ width of line as prescribed by the manufacturer for your strimmer. The reason being is that whilst I found a thicker reel fits easily enough on to the strimmer cartridge, it significantly reduced the battery life for a given charge. I was a little shocked / amazed that a couple of millimeters makes that much of a difference but it did!

Very strong strimmer line. Doesn’t break as easy as the supplied one with my strimmer. Plenty on the roll so should last a good while. Fits makita battery strimmer.

Personally I found it thick and so it broke quickly when hitting , concrete , tarmac etc. I'm no expert though , I may be using it wrong
