If i go 12v into the molex will the usb come out at standard 5v?

No. The 5v line in the Molex connector is wired directly to the 5v line in the USB connector. The 12v line isn’t connected to anything.

What gauge wiring does this use?

Not sure. It's thinner than the power supply wires that plug into it. But gauge doesn't really need to be that thick on a 5v line as long as your amperage isn't too heavy. I'm using it for a 2amp LED light and it works fine for it.
