UX for XR: User Experience Design and Strategies for Immersive Technologies (Design Thinking)

Nice read, and balance of theoretical and practical knowledge
I've been working in UX for about 4 years and have read many books on XR. This is the first one that speaks in the language of a UX designer and communicates process for designing XR in a way that is and understandable and useful. The first half of the book does a nice job disambiguating UX and XR, and how the two relate to eachother. Even as someone who has been in UX for a while I found this content to be a nice refresher. I particularly liked the last three chapters which discuss process and tools for designing XR specifically. The author's illustrations are a nice touch as well. OOUX was an interesting concept that I'm curious to learn more about/how to apply it. In the future I'd expect a version which accounts for updated tools, frameworks, HMD, and process. But overall I really enjoyed this read, and think that the fundamentals will always be useful.

A solid deep dive into the XR experience.
As an enthusiast who has been involved with VR since the Oculus kickstarter, I have to say that I’m very pleased with the book. It's a great resource for media professionals who are not developers but are eager to learn more about the technology. The book lays out the principles and methods to design XR experiences, plus it gives a comprehensive overview of recommended tools and techniques. It's a well-structured title with excellent and in-depth insights on the full scope of XR design, with very up-to-date coverage on the topics. I found it especially interesting to learn about the role of blockchain technology, specifically crypto art and NFTs in the upcoming Metaverse economy. Great book and a very inspirational read. Highly recommended!

Really informative - get your VR legs here
Very appreciative of this author and book. I've been a traditional visual UX Designer for quite a while, but not a gamer, not extremely technical, and am completely new to designing for VR and AR. I didn't know where to start. This book was exactly what I was hoping for, and spot on. It covered so much territory: the big-picture, detailed frameworks, processes, tools, terms & definitions, info about the past, and thoughts about the future. I dog-eared and highlighted most of the book! For me it was a must read in order to have a good solid foundation in this spatial/immersive experience design paradigm shift before taking the plunge.

Fantastic read for every XR developer/designer
It has been an exciting 5 years since the VR industry was introduced to consumers in 2016 with the launch of the HTC Vive and Oculus CV1. As a developer of both VR and AR, I have seen many different guessworks when it comes to designing XR applications. Reading this book helps me bring together the experiences that I have had and condense it into a forward thinking mindset that I think will help me and my team to create better quality work in the future. For any XR designer working on your own product or doing contract work for others, this book is a must read as the XR industry mature and goes into the next generation of applications.

provides insights into design thinking in XR
A thoughtful and well written book giving the oft over looked design perspective in XR. I liked how the author looked at the emerging XR industry from a design thinking perspective. The title is well structured, giving an overview over history, technologies and applications, with practical examples for production. As a developer, I find it interesting to evaluate how the UX design process plays out for spatial computing platforms. It's a clear and concise primer on where the industry is headed. Fantastic resource and highly recommended.
